Or maybe he just stepped up big time? Again, it's his passing, vision, and playmaking that were noteworthy tonight, things that he was criticized for in the past. Even with Barca's shitty defense he still had a lot to do to thread the ball through to Gosens or set up Asllani for a one vs one chance. Adding this to his good finish and his off-the-ball pressing, it's not hard to rate this as a great performance. It was exactly what you'd expect from a great SS/AM.

Barca was poor and Lautaro was great, it's not an either/or situation and both things are true in this case.

Well you don't need to be anything great to smoke Garcia. The guy is an ok CB at best.
