A huge game ahead of us, with an Atletico team in great form. 6 wins in 6 as we speak, and I hope to see an improved performance compared to the last game. A win here can truly propel us to finding our footing again and keep us strong in this title race.

With Frenkie returning and Pedri hopefully having enough stamina for 50-60 minutes, Rapha also with another game in his legs. We should definitely improve from this alone.

We lose 3 1. No real momentum, no confidence and no settled 11. At times against Alaves we looked like a small team, jittery and playing the underdog role.

Pedri and Frenkie could start here. Don't think Pedri will play full game though. Question is whether you want Pedri to start the game with control or end the game with it. Eric will probably get some minutes in midfield.

Rapha, Olmo, Yamal behind the CF which might not be Lewy. Ferran disasterclass probably still gives Flick PTSD and Rashford still hasn't proved he can play CF, so we'll see.

Martini at CB?

With our form the fact it is a home match is benificial to us.

Honestly it's gonna be a tough match, but i think we can get a win.

This is our first genuine test to see if we truly have what it takes. The Chelsea match doesn’t count, as the early red card skewed everything.
Atlético will likely come out with very aggressive pressing from the opening minutes.

Q$G test doesn't count?

No guarantees. If the players go out motivated and willing to fight we are good. I am not overly optimistic though. Chelsea should have been wake up call but we didn't see the team react in the way we expected against Alaves.
Flick's visible disappointment said it all.

Don't think it was about Bernal, Martin or some other B option either. There's probably issues with some of the (guaranteed) starters. Raphinha the only one in the clear here.

This game comes either at a perfect time, to turn a bad feeling into a good one, or at a bad time to destroy our confidence for big games even more. It depends on the players, as Flick doesn't tell or teach them different things from last season, where it all worked out nearly in perfection. I guess we'll see what it will be.

My starting XI:

------------Joan
Eric - Cubarsi - Martin - Balde
---- -Frenkie-Pedri
Lamine---Rapha---Rashford
-----------Lewy
