Simeone completely fucked up the first half. Why would you start with one striker vs Barca? Basically had no threat. Usually Sorlorth destroyed us. Now Alvarez had to do too much and it killed them, especially first half.

Not even that really, no one was there to support him and they sorta played a little scared. Weird considering we have a much weaker squad (with the injuries) than last season.

Exactly. He took way too conservative approach. Probably because the past but in our current moment it's the best to just press us and put us in a tough spot. Today we had no pressure. Even other LaLiga minions put us in tougher spots. That's why I was so shocked by his approach. He could easily won this game with a bit of pressure in the first half.

I was a little surprised how timid ATM played. Thought they would attack more. Weird tactics by Simeone. They did far more counters last season. Perhaps they were much better last season.

Simeone just said he was happy with his team performance and I see this as a compliment for Barca.

Also agreed with him that 3-1 is tad exaggerated. They did have few chances that should go in.
