Besides Barca, Pericos are the most in-form team of La Liga.

Expect a fiery atmosphere and special treatment of Joan too.

High risk match with most despicable fanbase in Spain

How will they honor a Catalan player they hoisted on their shoulders at end of last season? Dead rats?

Keep an eye on RFEF facilitator of douchery to be assigned to match

No fanbase is more despicable than Real Mierda fans.

Espanyol are installing nets behind the goalposts at the Cornellà-El Prat to prevent objects from being thrown into the ground during the upcoming match against Barcelona. They want to avoid sanctions which could come as a result of such actions in what is their best season in many years.Via: @mundodeportivo

RCD Espanyol bans supporters of FC Barcelona from wearing their club's shirt in the stadium on Saturday :

"Prohibition of access with away team symbols

Access to the RCDE Stadium with any type of clothing, scarf, or identifying symbol of FC Barcelona is strictly prohibited.

Anyone with shirts, scarves, hats, flags, or any other insignia of the away team will not be allowed entry.

This rule applies to all areas of the stadium.

Security and access control personnel will ensure strict compliance with this rule."

This is unfair and shoking. This team needs to go in segunda ASP.

Flick on the Derbi Barceloní in the press conference ahead of the match:

“First of all, happy New Year. It will be an interesting match. I want to congratulate Manolo because what he is doing is incredible. They have five consecutive victories, which is fantastic. They press very well and are also strong in transitions. We will have to be careful and play at our best level, that is the most important thing.”

“Last season wasn’t easy either. This year they are playing with confidence, they press well, and we’ll have to see what happens. We need to stay calm and play our best football. In the end, I believe we have enough quality to win there.”

Flick on the transfer market situation:
“A difficult question. We’re not ready yet. When you look at the back line, centre-backs and full-backs, we need one more player. But we have to discuss it, and it’s not easy to bring in a high-level player in the winter transfer window. I trust that we can do something, but it has to make sense.”

Flick on being focused on the team:
“The most important thing in football is to support your own team, not go against the other. That’s what’s best for your team. Everyone should send positive energy. You have to stay focused on your team, not on the other one.”

Flick on Lamine and Dani Olmo:
“Yes, they are ready. Dani played the small training match today; he isn’t afraid in one-on-one situations. He has taken an important step forward. Lamine is also back.”

Flick on Joan Garcia and how going back to face Espanyol will be:
“I don’t see any difference compared to recent weeks. It will be an important match. He has been working with Dela, with whom he has a good relationship. He has confidence and believes in his strengths and quality, that’s what he wants to show tomorrow.”

Flick and his wishes for 2026:
“For me, the most important thing is to train the way we have in the last two weeks: with quality, high intensity, and full concentration. That’s how you improve. There is a lot of potential in the team. I wish all the players stay healthy. We’ve already had many injuries, that’s enough for this season.”

Flick on Araujo’s return:
“It depends on him. He isn’t at 100% physically, but he’s doing well. He has to decide how fast he wants to go. For me, it’s clear. What I see and feel is that the team’s support has been fantastic. He’s taken the time he needed. He’s on the right path.”

Flick on being happy in Barcelona:
“I’ve learned a lot over this year and a half. I love Barcelona’s mentality. I love living here, I have a fantastic staff. The players are phenomenal. All the employees help us a lot, the communications team, the executives, Deco and Bojan… We want to give our best to our fans. I feel it every day. I truly appreciate what exists here, at this club. I will give my best for this club.”

Flick on nets being put behind the goal at Cornellà:
“I don’t know. I’m positive. We are people, we have to live together. We have to respect each other, that’s the most important thing in football. I think we all have to be on the same page.”

Flick further on Joan Garcia:
“As I see it, he’s always focused. He’s had a fantastic half-season and has shown why his decision was the right one. He’s at a top level and he is our number one. I have no concerns at all.”

Flick on Eric Garcia & his position:
“We’ll see tomorrow. He’s fantastic. With ‘Cuba’ and Gerard, the triangle gives us stability. Also Jules and Balde.”

I'll be nice to see some tension and emotion in this modern woke sterile football. I don't want any real incident but they have some real fans and Joan did the worst an Espanyol player could do so it should be an interesting game for him.

Cucks and tourists in Camp Nou would probably applaud him if the roles were reversed.
