This is the second time this have happened. You would think Javier Tebas would get the point, but he probably tries again in a couple of years.

Thank you Don Perez to save football from Laporta.

They greedy bastards will try again in some years but a nice win for now.

Wonder if this was ever on and always a plan to test reception.

It will happen eventually.

Could be worse though, aren't Serie A taking a game to fookin' Perth Australia.

The only way the Barcas, Madrid's, Benficas and PSGs (if they were run as a club and not a state advertisement that is) could ever compete with the PL would be by forming a La Liga de La Serie A McDonalds Porkchop Tortilla League.

That would be able to sell rights packages closer to the PL.

Won't happen because will cause guys like Tebas to lower their paygrade. But I always find it hilarious that you form the EU as a trading block to compete internationally, yet reject the notion of a Euro wide league because it would kill the member state leagues profitability.

It's just a complete oxymoron on the whole situation.

They already tested a couple of years ago and now again. They'll do it again in a couple of years.

Why is that worse? Same shit, they at least have an excuse that San Siro isn't avaliable at the time of the match (still not a good excuse, there is plenty of other stadiums in Lombardia)

Ever heard of Champions League?

Because of the flight distances comparatively.

Champions League is different because it's the only place where continental Europe would play against England. So would still have that Ryder Cup esque selling point and not diminish the tv rights of any of the Continental Super League, CL or Premiership.

Only ones that would drop would be Serie A, LaLiga, Porkchop, etc. But would the drop of the income be that much compared to what the clubs outside the top 3/4 receive anyways.

As I said, a horrible idea that would bury 90% of football clubs in Europe. I get the motivation because EPL is financially so ahead but that is not the solution. Each country should try to develop their own leagues as much as they can and get them closer to EPL.

EPL doesn't even have domination now, their results are nothing special even if they have much more money. There is no need for an all european league except for CL.

Spain could be very close to EPL if they had smart leadership during 2010s when they dominated the world and had all the best and most maretable players in the world. In reality we have Tebas who is working on destroying the league and guys like Laporta support him.

Spainish clubs have Spanish owners for the most part, and they want to protect that.

It isn't Tebas, it isn't they are stupid, it is simple self perseverance strategy.

They don't care about local fans, they don't care about the product. Theycare about themselves and so far it is working for them.

There is a reason all projects led by foreign owners were stopped, and all the blame went to that owner and clubs were used as an example.

It is why the idea that Barca should be privatised won't work as much as people think. They won't find rich local investors like Bayern, and Spain will find creative ways to fuck us even more if it is foreign investors.

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
Barca has to compete with financial doping in the EPL and clubs that sold their ass to become a Dubai Porta Potty, who spend 400m every transfer window.

Barca must not sell any of its membership and must stay 100 percent fan owned.

Barca must compete in the transfer market, despite having no money due to almost going bust under a corrupt board a few years ago.

Barca must NOT try to gain more revenue through 'embarrassing' levers.

Barca must NOT try to gain more revenue from it's sponsor or collaborations with Spotify musical talents, as this is ' embarrassing '.

Barca must NOT try to gain revenue through playing games overseas. Barca MUST stay loyal to La Liga and Spain which tries to fuck Barca over every weekend whilst cheating for it's main rival.

That's what your average Barca fan demands from the club.

Not very realistic is it ? :putin:

The way Girona fell off needs to be studied. How do you go from playing in the CL to no European football the next season while being dead last in LL and not able to beat Oviedo at home.
