It does not need to be a zero chance. Substantial distance from the goal, while crucially you have another player alongside in the line to back up Huijsen. While ref can make a mistake easily, VAR should intervene. While Huijsen should really address this moronic takes, regardless. Basically fracked up an easy 3 point match and a chance to rest certain players down the line.

Last season this would be an easy loss of points. Still, i think we lack top tier midfielder, and a solid CB back-up, to be a fantastic team. Also, i am done with Vini. Easy sell in the summer, and invest in other areas.

Var has no reason to intervene here. The ref has seen the action and decided it's a red card offense, due to the considerable distance from Huijsen and Militao. It's a close call decision you accept and move on.

Yes, Madrid is building a top top side again imo. Can see them getting another CL under Mbappe. Barca atm I think is capable of a higher peak form than Madrid, but consistency can be hit and miss. 2022-23 in reverse is a possibility on the domestic front.

He can decide all he likes. It was a wrong decision to make.

Don't think so. Quickest path to the goal is straight. Militao has more ground to cover because he has to run diagonally. And Oyarzabal is in full sprint, not jogging like Militao, considering he is running for the ball.

If the situation is closer to the sideline and not directly on goal... then yes. More like the Tchouameni situation in the last Clasico. Then red is too much. Here it can be given no issues for me.

Full sprint, with the ball at his feet, in the line of the end of center circle, meaning 25+ meters from the penalty area, coming from off center position, which means he either adjusts his run towards the center to improve his chances for scoring, or he continues the run and reaches penalty box wide with right foot. All that while Militao is closer to the goal at the moment of the foul, has a center of the pitch position and is a faster player than Oyarzabal.

p.s: Militao jogging while opponent is storming the goal, i mean lolz!

He doesn't have to adjust his run. The goal is 7m wide, he can run straight and it's a clear scoring chance 1 vs 1. Militao is the one that has to run on the more complicated trajectory.

Of course Militao is not in full speed, he is secondary actor to the action in this situation, the duel at full intensity is Huijsen vs the attacker. Maybe he catches the attacker maybe he doesn't. It's a judgment call by the ref and that's that.

The idiot of this action is Huijsen, he lets the attacker go and the fans find out if Militao catches him or not. Gambled on a close one, and got sent off by the ref. Not much else here.

ty. I will get to answering your game question. Had slipped my mind.

I've seen Huijsen expulsion a million times by now and still can't tell if it's right. It's harsh imo. But the guy is just inexperienced, should have let the player past.

But then again,I sleep in CR7 jammies so what do I know?
