Almeria's general director has confirmed the sale of Umar Sadiq for a bit under 30m. Didn't say to which team though.

Likes of Villarreal, Sevilla and Dortmund were all linked to him but BVB is apparently close to sign Anthony Modeste as a replacement for Haller (makes sense to sign a short-term replacement if they expect him to fully recover and be back in a few months although you never know with cancer) so interested to see in which La Liga team he'll end up. Or maybe there is/was another "surprise" team in for him.

OTOH Turki Al-Sheikh also said they'll make important signings this week and sell some players for good fees that will please the fans. So far they've only targeted younger talents so will be interesting if they'll actually bring more proven "big name" players. Money really shouldn't be a problem but we'll see.

Not sure if making too many changes in squad in a week they'll start the season vs Madrid is smart though.

30m (ish) sounds too much for the Spanish club. Maybe he goes to an Everton, Brighton or Man UTD level team.
Messi983 Have you seen any of Almeria in pre-season to know how Kaiky is doing?

I've watched the game against Al Hilal. Kaiky was subbed out at HT although he was probably Almeria's best player. They've looked pretty poor overall in 1st (improved a bit in second though) but tbh Al Hilal are a good team. Not surprising given they're reigning AFC Champions league winners.

Should probably do better in Al Hilal's 2nd goal. Did well to save the ball off the line in their first goal but couldn't really do much more with a rebound when Vietto scored (didn't knew he is playing there now). Had a couple other good defensive actions and looked comfortable on the ball. Commentator mentioned he missed Kaiky's diagonal long balls (he had in previous games) because they were playing with Ramazanie as a false 9 in this game instead of target man like Sadiq so they've played different.

Don't expect him to become immediate starter but think he should get a lot of minutes already this season and develop into a very good player.

Highlights starts around 45 seconds in. Also ignore last two minutes or so of the video.

Here is also a full match if you have time to watch.

Most players in La Liga have now been registered, including Griezmann (loan) and Mingueza (transfer) who were registered yesterday.

Only Barca and Betis remain with unregistered players.

Betis will likely be without Bravo, Dani Martin, Guardado, Luiz Felipe, Luiz Henrique, Joaquin and Willian Jose for matchday 1 as they're over the salary limit. They're going to pull a lever but it most likely won't materialize today.

I predict Sevilla droping out of the top 4. Losing both CB starters will be their downfall.

Speed demon Nicolas Jackson starting for Villarreal. Not much more of note in those lineups. Villarreal and Sevilla are usually sides who can crush the market but have been severly hurt by this years salary caps.

Has scored the opening goal. Other two Villarreal goals have also come from a pretty unlikely source - Alex Baena who was on loan at Girona last season.

Arnau Martinez on the bench, Couto starts for Girona. First blood for the Brazilian in that debate - weird move all around though.

Deserved win for Valencia, Girona didn't really create much despite playing against 10 for most of the 2nd half. Also solid cameo for Nico off the bench in last 20 minutes.

Kaiky starting against Madrid. Almeria with 5 atb but 4 CBs, our ex boy Chumi as RB. Don't think I've ever seen him play there. Sadiq is starting as well, doesn't look like he's that close to be sold then. Villarreal apparently has second thoughts about paying 30m for him (seems reasonable to me, he's no Darwin and don't think worth that much) and are now considering Cavani again. We'll see what happens but hopefully Sadiq, Kaiky&Co. will have a good game.

Looks like they couldn't register any of the new signings besides Kaiky and Babić (he was there on loan last season already, so don't know if they've had to register him again after they've executed buy option) but no Pacheco, Mendes, Pozo, Svidersky, Milovanović or Baptistao in squad.
