Kylian Mbappé

Best midfielder around
Now that the window is over, I got to say that I find it fucking hilarious that Madridistas just a month ago thought that both Mbappe and Dembele would be playing for them in the future. Instead, they won't get either of them.

It would have been a good time for him to go to Real too as both Bale and Benzema are fading fast.

Then again they would rather sell Morata over Benz so who knows what the hell is going on there. Hopefully Asensio falls to the same fate.

Madridista's went from highly raiting both Mbappe and Demele to trashing them like they aren't good because one went to PSG and the other went to us. Not all Madridista's are like that but there's quite a lot of them that simply changed their tune about those two once they went to other teams.

It hurts Madridista's more because Mbappe was a Madrid fan and idolized the likes of Zidane and CR7. I guess you can say it's the same that happened with us when we lost talent to them who were clearly Barca fans but to a lesser to degree.

Mbappe will only be 23 when his current contract runs out. He'll probably end up at Madrid eventually.

And  at our last minute bid. Bunch of clowns.

But was he really that sure he wouldn't start over Benzema? At 180m, I'd think he would. Think he'd start for us atm too, but Suarez would bench Mbappe if he were to regain his form.

Since you people are wondering what happened, today there were many informations released from Monaco sources, and PSG sources.

http://parisunited.net/2017/09/02/article-paris-u-mbappe-les-dessous-dun-transfert-record/

https://www.planete-asm.fr/actualite/22395-les-details-de-l-option-d-achat-de-mbappe-devoiles.html

More details were revealed in L'Equipe du Soir, a french TV show by L'Equipe

I will not translate it all, but here a summary:

- Mbappe wanted to renew, and stay at least one more season at Monaco.

- But Monaco's board, and owner wanted to sell this summer, in fear that Mbappe will not confirm what he's shown so in 6 months.

- Monaco was sly, and told the player, and family they were ok to renew him around july 19.

- But they already started contacting Real Madrid, and Real really, really wanted to buy him.

- Monaco negociated with Real, and everything was ready. (no fee details released on what Real offered, but rumors in France say that Monaco asked PSG 180m because Real were willing to pay that)

- Monaco then told the player who was not aware in any ways that Monaco negociated in his back.

- Mbappe, and family then were furious. Especially since Mbappe wants to play, and he knew that at Real it will be difficult right of the bat.

- Mbappe father then said to Monaco that if they wanted to sell him so much, then they would choose where. They chose, and picked PSG after that Mbappe met with Unai Emery in Paris.

- Monaco was furious. All board parties in Monaco + Jardim + Mendes wanted Mbappe to go to Real.

- Monaco put an incredible pressure on Mbappe till last wednesday at the end of the mercato.

- Monaco was in contact with Real, and Barca that day, still trying to push him to Spain.

- Even Jardim pushed for it, as he didn't want Mbappe to go to PSG (and because he's close to Mendes)

- Jardim lied to people when he said on sunday that Mbappe asked him to be part of the game against Marseillle. Mbappe learned it from the medias, and went to them complaining he actually asked to not be part of the game.

- PSG negociated Mbappe's salary only last wednesday (not details disclosed so far), so all the rumors about 18m per year were false. It was meant to hurt the player's image to the general public.

- Real is terribly angry.

- Antero Henrique managed with the help of Mbappe, and representatives to reach an agreement like this on the fee so that they can get away from the FFP (this info comes from Monaco itself apparently via Damien Degorre at LEquipe, and reposted on Planete-ASM):

If PSG manages to stay in Ligue 1:

72.5m in 2018.
72.5m in 2019.
35m if Mbappe renews with PSG or is sold.

TL;DR

Monaco tried to screw Mbappe with the help of Real. Mbappe forced his move to PSG while he wanted to stay in Monaco, but Monaco didn't want to keep him. Real is angry at the player, and at PSG.

Barca tried to make a move in the last three days of the mercato with no success since Mbappe's father didn't want to talk to us.

Julien, reading your timelines, why did Monaco all of sudden agree to sell/loan him to PSG? They could have kept him, right? Because at that point Mbappe thought the bridge has been burnt and decided not to stay at Monaco whatsoever?

If he turns out a huge hit he would certainly want to go to RM, but if the rumor that this current investigation by UEFA was encouraged/asked by Perez was true, then I hope the bridge between PSG and RM has burnt to the degree that PSG will not allow him to go to Real Madrid. Not to mention PSG is a jail anyway and there is no release clause in France. ;)

PSG won't let him go until his contract is up anyway. He'll run down his contract then go to RM.

Where is it being rumoured about investigation being down to Perez request?

Damn, that's true. :(

Then our only hope is Mbappe and his entourage value money more than anything else and then PSG is able to retain him with $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Or by the time his current contract expires RM already found some other players who are good enough to start for them so he would have to compete for a spot.

From what I did find in all french sources about Mbappe, especially Monaco insiders, all say the same: Monaco wanted the money.

They had an agreement with Real, but in the end, even if they wanted to avoid it, they had to pick PSG as it was the only club Mbappe was willing to join, and again, Monaco wanted its 180m right now.

They didn't want to risk waiting another year. That's why Mbappe is annoyed, because they negociated with Real in his back. And because they had an agreement that he would renew with Monaco. But Monaco apparently just said that to him so that he won't bother them while they discussed with Real.

Mbappe doesn't hate PSG contrary to popular belief. He is from Paris (Bondy), and he likes PSG a lot. Medias apparently just wanted to make him look like a Real follower because since then, Mbappe even put up photos of him as a kid in the parc des princes (PSG stadium). Photos were even used in the PSG trailer about his signing.

His father favorite club is PSG too, same for his younger brother (who's said to be more talented than Mbappe at the same age). And his mother, according to a PSG source was giving out PSG shirts to family members as soon as early august.

All that to say, I think Mbappe will sadly stay a long time in Paris, and will not screw them on the fee if he's sold.

The good news in all this, if french sources are to be believed, is that his agent (his father), and himself are not in the best terms anymore with Real Madrid at the moment, which gives us an open door for when he will leave PSG.

And I believe the relationship with PSG should get Better once the current Barca board is out. Somebody here posted photos of young Nasser supporting Barca in Camp Nou, which means he doesn't hate us, but just hates the current board.

If PSG is banned from CL next year, we could even be able to try our chance as soon as 2019 or 2020.
