Kevin Strootman

PSV midfielder Kevin Strootman, a Holland international, was watched by Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley and a senior Manchester United scout during Saturday's clash against Ajax, as well as a representative from Tottenham who was also at the Amsterdam Arena for the clash that Ajax won 3-1. The 22-year-old - who has already won 15 international caps - is emerging as one of the best midfield talents in Europe. Strootman (right) has been valued at £20million by his club. And the Premier League's elite are now starting to sit up and taken notice of Strootman - who is rated at £20million. And Strootman's agent Chiel Dekker confirmed that the 22-year-old wants a summer move to England last month when he told talkSPORT:

"All the top clubs in Europe know about Kevin, but a move to England next summer is his first priority and, yes, Manchester United and other big clubs in Europe have been in touch with me." PSV coach d**k Advocaat also admitted last month that it's a matter of when, not if, Strootman moves to one of Europe's elite clubs. Advocaat has already lined up Oscar Hiljemark from Swedish champions Elsfburg as a replacement. The 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder has proved to be a revelation since his move to PSV from Utrecht last summer, but has since become unsettled and has asked if he can leave in the new year should a suitable offer arrive.

My favorite player in Holland atm, what a beast. Should become more consistent in his games, but such raw talent; power, athleticism, a good shot, good view on the game and a real box-to-box midfielder. Not saying he should go to Barcelona, but saw there was no topic on this player so I'd thought I'd make one!

yep, really hoping United can pick him up in January, really like what i have seen of him so far, although personally I think a defensive midfielder should be priority for United I would welcome Strootman none the less.

My favorite player at PSV by far is Dries Mertens. Strootman may be a better fit for EPL physicality, but Mertens is the more technical and creative player.

Mertens is actually quite dull in away games, he is now really the man who makes goals in easy games. I think it has been a great buy, Strootman and Mertens together from u
FC Utrecht, but Strootman really has the potential. He can play at DM, but I really see him being between a DM and an AM, to help them both out from box to box. Could definitely be a good player for Manchester United to strengthen the midfield, but I hope he stays another year at PSV. Hopefully in the summer of 2014 he has his Champions League experience and the experience of playing a World Cup, that would be a way better start at a big club. I think PSV can really hit the cash for him, 20M euro is not ridiculous for this player, especially in 2014.

Not just goal scoring. From what I've watched, Mertens has more creativity than his fellow PSV players know how to use. If Mertens was on a team with players making better off-ball runs, he'd be 1) an assist machine, and 2) there'd be more space for him to dribble/attack himself. I look forward to seeing him play more for Belgium.

Great work by Strootman to set up Mertens for the 2-0 against AZ. Recovered the ball, combination with Lens into the box and kept the overview to see Mertens and got himself an assist.

PSV and AS Roma have agreed on a price tag of €20M for Kevin Strootman.

Bought together with Dries Mertens from FC Utrecht two years ago for €13M, now combined sold for €29.5M. Nice profit...

Seems not to be the case, but United has been kinda not involved in the transfer market it seems... PSV still waiting for bank guarantees for the 20M of Roma, otherwise the deal is not going to be completed.

Just wondering where they get the money from, maybe they have been keeping in mind they will sell someone like De Rossi or Marquinhos for around 20M-30M? Those are to me the most likely candidates to sell for huge amounts.

Its a shame,i dont disagree with the idea of staying loyal to your club but its now or never for him to move after all he is 29 and will be 30 in 24 July.I dont like him getting wasted in that average side of Roma..he deserves to go to a big club and prove his talent
