It was introduced to avoid smaller clubs spending more money than they have and then going bankrupt or having to be bailed out. Which worked quite well, but perhaps La Liga should soften it a bit for a couple of years now due to the COVID after effects.

They won't though, even if it'll help the bigger teams like Barca, Real Madrid and Atletico. They'll rather keep showing how strong they are and then cry later when no one are buying their TV rights because the product is so dilluted and sucks to watch

I'm sure this is true. Those rules where the reason why we didn't get Memphis last autumn. La Liga refused to registrate him.
