Would’ve been good on loan. If he goes crazy over there, maybe the Saudis send him back in January.

Played for Inter, Juventus, Man City, Bayern and Barcelona - and no one wanted to keep him past two years or even past the year they had him.

At that point the problem is the player.

Also when you have played for all these clubs and not managed to stick around you might as well take that Saudi money because you can only downgrade in Europe anyway.

Barca wanted him back and he was at City for four seasons.

Fairly sure Bayern were wanting him back last summer also.

Switches off to much though.

Him going to Saudi was an obvious move. Bar going back to Barcelona he’d exhausted most options at ‘top’ clubs.

If you can’t get a sporting project, go for the financial gains instead.

The moment it comes out that Cancelo is a problem in the dressing room in a Pep's team, then all serious clubs should end their interest in him.

Simple as that

Common Deco, work your stuff and loan João back. LB, RB, LW backup. Or throw Fati in the mix to deal with the Saudis.

All our backup problems solved by one loan. :cancelo:

Would actually be a good option on a loan again for depth, club would have kept him if they could work out a deal last summer

Nah thank you, I don't want to go the Bartomeu route again. I rather develop own La-Masia kids for back-up roles, than relying again on mercs. How can this season not be the best example on how Barca should be going forward with transfers.
When we need quality that we don't find at home, then pay top dollar to get the player. But if we just need backups and quantity, these La-Masia kids will never do worse than expensive mercenaries.
Keep Martin and let Cancelo stay in the desert. We don't need him.

Bartomeu was the same guy that cost us by relying on Miranda, Munir, Sandro among others for backup roles.

Bartomeu simply hired incompetent people who tried every strategy in the book, they simply sucked and failed in everyone.

There isn't really anything more to learn.

Munir and Sandro were part of the treble winning squad in 2015 though. That was a successful approach from that perspective if La masia played some roles in that journey.
