That wasn't the impression last summer. Gundogan was one of the solid performers under Xavi and he made it clear that he was forced out of the club due to financial reasons.

He was excellent is first season, definitely wanted him to stay this season, he would have added some needed depth, but the club wanted olmo, it makes sense from a business prospective.

It says little about how he performed last season or would have this season under flick.

No he didnt he wanted him gone and Gundogan left after conversation about his role the following season.

Anyone with any idea how Flicks teams play know why.

Barca are still paying Gundogan who on top of that costs more on books than Gundogan did last season.

It is not a 'financial decision' primarily at all.

More made up nonsense despite fact realisng they had fucked up and gave him far too big a contract for what offered.

Gundogan's contract was mutually terminated in agreement. Official statements are he forgave 2 years worth of salary. Now you say Gundogan is still getting paid - well that might be true, to have installed payments in compensation.

Whatever the financial case is - I can't connect the dots between Gundo wanting to leave and fuck the club financially because simply Flick told he'll get less minutes. In such cases players are listed on the transfer market to profit, probably sold to Saudi Arabia for 10-15-20m instead of terminating the contract. Especially the dire finances given at this point with the forthcoming transfer of Olmo.

Gundogan had one year left not two and it is reported he is still getting paid part of his contract.

How is Gundo wanting to leave fucking the club financially?

No one was paying for Gundogan where he would want to go most likely. He wanted to go back to City and only possible for free and Barca covering part of contract.

They were desperate to get him out and were not going to hold off any longer in hopes he wants to play in Saudi.

Barca supports Flick's statements yesterday obviously and makes a formal complaint about the schedule in the final part of the season. Tebas most likely will use it as toilet paper, but it is what it is.

Indeed he is very lucky to be left players like Pedri, Yamal and best La Masia since he choked it last time in charge.

Aint no doubt about that.

Unbelievable luck to inherit Messi and then Yamal through work done by others to get them to club.

Have to build on that luck also though.

Jamcels fav two Barca players were brought to Barca under Barto.. got to sting.

Doubt we'll see any changes when they didn't care about Real Madrid's complains and threats

Incompetence runs rampant in Spain.

They wont change it this season but worth kicking up a fuss about it when now with more games in CL poentially it is going to be more and more of an issue.

Spain should start in line with likes of EPL that are a week earlier also most seasons it seems.
