I'm reasonably happy with his latest performances. Looks more lively and fitter, which translates to faster. Also helping out the fullbacks more. It's one of the reasons why our defensive numbers got better.

He can be expendable if we play more offensively and press more, but as things stand, considering what the game plan is under Ernie, he is a clear starter and for good reason.

I’m just not seeing it tbh ...
I saw him try a short burst down the left wing which is unusual from him ... that said he stopped very quickly and seemed to trip himself up ..

Yeah Busi stays on the field all the time too. It would be easier to sub them if there were better players on the bench in their roles, but there is not.

Hopefully both get plenty of rest in the run up to the CL quarters.

Given that he played all the way to the worldcup final as the main man for Croatia he has been in fine form this season compared to other world cup players.
Still, I think Valverde asks too much of him and should rest him more. Just because he is way better than Modric/Kroos/Pogba/Kante etc. he shouldn't be asked to perform in every possible game!!

I don't think his post is serious, it is certainly is not accurate, but it is far from the loonyest thing in this forum said about IR--and they are usually on the absurdly negative side.
