He got one last year and has a contract running until 2021. Our wages are already a problem and we have several starters we have to phase out with Rakitic being one of them.

By 2020/2021, Rakitic, Busquets, Pique, Suarez should not be starting for FC Barcelona if the club have any ambitions and plans for competing in the future.

Crazy thing is everyone keeps saying Busqs is slow yet Rakitic is THE slowest player in the whole squad !!

He can't lose really ... he will probably keep getting picked despite being largely Ineffective..when the penny drops and Valverde finally starts Arthur or Vidal then Rakitic can warm the bench whilst being paid a King's ransom..

This has been discussed a lot here . If Rakitic is ineffective i am running out of words to attribute Busquet's lack of influence . Both played as a dm last season and Rakitic created more chances and had better key passes per game though not by a big margin . Still one is supposedly best Dm ever and other one is playing out of his natural position . If the club wants to phase out Raki , Busi should leave as well
Don't get started with all this bullshit about Busi's intelligence and position awareness . I know that will be the first thing that people will jump in to for defending Busi
