Harry Kane

Yeah but even so Kane is worse with Musiala behind him too. He holds onto the ball too long and doesn't make fast instinctive decisions. I don't think his numbers will fall off a cliff or anything, but they won't stay as they have been.

Yeah, I agree. I think Bayern play better without Musiala, for the reasons you mentioned. But obviously he's a big talent and it's hard to leave such a player out.

I think he might be my favourite player right now. I have always really liked him, though.

Just think he's so so good and love how rounded he is capable of being with his passing and link up. He's a Tory and royalist which rubs me the wrong way, but like Tempt says he's very low key off the pitch, married to his long-term girlfriend and just gets on with it. No fuss.

Still quite possibly my favourite player in European football. He is so good.

It's rare to find those players who can play the 9 and 10 roles or fulfil the abilities of those roles equally well. He's doing both at the same time, like Messi did (obviously not as good as Messi at it, but nobody is). He's a truly special footballer.

Even though I am Scottish one silver lining if England were to win the World Cup is to see this guy rewarded for his talent with the biggest trophy in the game.

Still seems a bit under-rated too. In my opinion he should be mentioned along with Lewandowski as one of the best number 9’s of all time and not just “of his generation”, especially once he’s added a few more trophies to his name. The only mark against him is that he’s yet to score in a final for club or country, but he has at least another few years at the highest level so should get more opportunities.

But I can’t think of another 9 who is also world class 9 and also a world-class number 10. I think the closest you can get in terms of all round play was prime Benzema at Real Madrid.

That's like saying Shearer should be in the same debates. Had Kane left Tottenham earlier to compete for the big titles, then yes. But he lacks memorable big game/final moments to be in that convo. To the point of having barely any. Don't forget Bayern lost the Bundesliga in his first season there, which was coincidental obviously, but it just doesn't add up trophy count-wise.

Kane is brilliant but is also playing for a scary team that put 6 past the opponents in a CL round of 16 tie without him.

He is without doubt up there with one of best 9s in his generation.

Not many can be the best penalty box 9 in world one game and drop deep to destroy PSG as a false nine the next.

Titles only mean so much.

R9, Batistuta, Shearer all amongst best in club football and didnt win all that much in comparison to others.

But he was also sensational for Spurs when they often had the likes of Lucas Moura and Dele Alli in the same team. Obviously playing with better players at Bayern he wasn’t going to be any worse.

As good a classic number 9 Shearer was, Kane’s all round game is on another planet. Don’t get me wrong, Shearer could hold up the ball and link play well, but you wouldn’t see him pinging 30 or 40 yard passes to the feet of wingers, threading through balls, or defending on the edge of his own box. Rooney could do that but he played in multiple positions for club and country and was never a 9.
