I really dont get the pressing problem. just fucking play long balls and make diagonal runs behind. easy pizy. create chaos and let lamine cook. wtf do you try to build from the back without your main tiki taka player in squad. stupid setup really.

Exactly!!

We did it against PSG and it worked perfectly for 120 minutes back in the day

But some here don't want to hear that inconvenient truth, you have to be flexible as a coach

A poor PSG who barely out of group and didnt score v Dortmund in next round.

Who battered Barca whos coach had no idea how to stop them with 10 men.

Xavi fan boys love to point to that loss as if should get credit.

Flick did more in one season in Europe than Xavi did in any of his three is the reality.

Xavi the 'flexible coach' who oversaw multiple Europa league exits.

Absolutely shit take as usual.

Stop making it this easy for me, when I feel like giving your dumb ass a reply.

Barto also signed a golden ball winner.

Absolute nonsense from you as usual.

Pointing to Xavi the 'flexible' coach who set new lows of being kocked out Europa league twice.

You make it too easy.

Good on Barto.

Signed Pedri also and revamped La Masia.

Laporta lost two future balondor winners in 3 seasons.

Top work fat lad.

The benefit of the new CL is that you play earlier against different better opposition than you would with old format. These games are like a mirror and give you an idea where you stand and what needs to be improved to compete.

I believe in Flick's words after the game and feel the same. I feel the team is improving already and quality players will return. They are working on fitness of players which naturally takes longer during season.

I believe Camp Nou will also give a boost to players and help them mentally.

I wonder if he's ever thought of playing kounde at CB & move Garcia to RB, just to try something different

That's what I've been saying all along. Kounde was brought to be a cb. However due to our hopeless planning he was forced to be a rb and reluctantly agreed. Time to try a Kounde Martin pairing. Cubarsi and Araujo are liabilities.

Another issue is the spine of this team has finished it's cycle. Kounde, Araujo, Lewa, Ferran and maybe even Raphinha need to be sold but only at the right price.

Question is if Kounde finds his focus when he plays CB. At CB it's even more dangerous to have a player who seems not motivated at all. Will CB position bring back his motivation to play football? I doubt it. Currently he looks like the version who doesn't enjoy the game at all.

With current quality/form of fullbacks Flick needs to consider if a 3 at the back and adding an extra player in midfield wouldn't be better. The output in attack produced by fullbacks looks minimal and without that it makes not much sense to have them as they don't help to solidify defense either. With 3 CBs offside trap can be orchestrated easier and another player in mid wouldn't hurt given other teams dominating Barça there in big games.

I know, 3 at the back has its downsides too and there is a reason not many teams use it, but with current form of fullbacks it doesn't make much sense to have them.

Koundes two major issues are -

1. Slow footed for 1v1 vs pacey/dribbling wingers. Either gets skinned when too close or leaves too much room and ball in.

2. He doesnt have the slightest clue what to do with ball before gets it while deep. He tries to control it then decide and loses split seconds. That bit in second half where Yamal passed to him in tight area his brain froze tried some flick or whtever the fuck he was trying and was robbed easily.

When he has time on ball he can at times make a great pass but under pressure he freezes too often, doesnt have picture of game and decides what to do after receives it.

Balde is a bit the same. Doesnt really know what next move is but can get away with it as can dribble out at times once taken it in.

Garcia has his faults but he is by far the full back at Barca who undrstands where game is at tactically and what passes are on before receives it.. and has far better technique to make it happen.

With a such a stupid management who wants to keep Lewanflopski till next summer allowing him to end his contract OR, even worse - extending it for another year - you are hoping tooooo much. This guy should be pushed out in January and get some money on him plus relieving his HUGE salary for half of season on….BUT, I would be surprised if this will happen as NO other top team in the world has a poorer management than Barca. Hilarious!

Alan Shearer tore into Barcelona’s defence. He said:

“They keep doing it over and over again. Chelsea deserved to win; they executed it perfectly. It’s as if four little idiots stand there and ask you: ‘How would you like to do it, guys?’

“Sometimes it’s hard to believe. I have no words for how easy it was for Chelsea and how crazy Barça play at times. I’ve seen many offside traps in my life, but this one is truly crazy.”
