We lack world class quality everywhere except Pedri, De Jong, Yamal, Rafinha but even they aren't far above other elite players. When one of them is injured and another is an 18 year old returning from injury, you can lose against other elite teams. Simple as.

Entire backline is a joke. First PSG goal never happens with any other CB but an 18 year old.

This is as good as it gets coaching wise with these players. Dominated first 30 minutes, took the lead, could have had another Olmo goal and a PSG red card. But it went in their favour instead. That's completely normal when you have opponents of such quality. We don't have 11 world class players to dominate them throughout. We have 4 max when they are on form.

If anything was worrying it was our physical level after the first half but then again you don't want to peak physically in October anyway so there is hope.

This is more or less still the same shitty team that got rekt by Frankfurt 2 seasons ago + older Yamal.

Good post. But what was PSG last night.

Their lineup was worse in every position bar the backline.

Too much hyperbole, even if going by what you're saying is correct, we have 4 WC players, that's more than enough, we should have what an entire XI of WC players, not even PSG have that 😂

We have more "World Class" players than PSG but we don't even look like a team this season.

It's all about cohesion and chemistry as a unit.

If our team clicks we should be able to beat PSG. We dominated them at Anfield (they dominated us even more in Paris), only beat us on penalties and both Lucho and Nasser have said that Liverpool are the toughest team they faced all season.

Our team is scary on paper. Slot needs to fix things immediately. He has numerous World Class players.

Liverpool, Barcelona and PSG are the 3 best teams on the planet.

Worse is relative. Our backline is always trash tier no matter what. With injuries, PSG's frontline went from S tier to A tier. A tier is still enough to beat trash tier.

If anything, not conceding 3+ like against Inter against a far better attacking side and CL winners was a vast improvement. We always concede even against dysfunctional sides like Madrid last season. What we can do is outscore opponents when Raphinha and Yamal are on fire. You can't dominate with only De Jong and Pedri when Olmo is shit at AM, fullbacks are also shit and CF can't play ball.

We lack quality, not coaching ability. Paradoxically, the coaching actually makes it look like we should be doing even better while Flick is achieving all this with mostly average players like Torres, Olmo, Rashford + entire backline sprinkled with some quality in Yamal, Raphinha, Pedri, De Jong.

A long way to go.

This point last season PSG were very bad, while Liverpool were playing the best balanced football played in the whole of Europe throughout 24/25.

For anyone to draw definite conclusions from yesterday's game or indeed the Gala game night before, would be foolish.

It's not about the players; I've been highlighting this since the season and all summer. Let me illustrate it again.

Enrique won the treble with two average center-backs.

Ruiz, who many said couldn't get anywhere close to our midfield.

Krava, who was seen as an underwhelming signing that they overpaid for after his falloff at Napoli.

Dembele's story is known to all.

Last night, they played us off our park while making five starters and one playing with a knock; let that sink in.

Flick is a good coach, but his system has clear weaknesses, and Enrique is just a step ahead of him right now. If we need to give him eleven World Cup players to win the Champions League, we might as well sack him now..

Flick did the same with numerous players too:

Raphinha: Half the fanbase wanted him gone when Flick came in. Only a decent winger before Flick.

Ferran: Was a meme before Flick.

Inigo: Bang average career.

Casado: Unproven kid.

De Jong: Half the fanbase was against him.

Eric: Crap before Flick.

Rashford: United fans wanted him out. Early signs are positive under Flick.

If Flick had anywhere near Lucho's budget, he'd get a world class CB for his system and better squad depth in general.

Flick won a domestic treble and nearly reached a CL final in his first season with no transfer budget whilst playing the most entertaining Football in the world.
