I didn't realize there was no grey area between kamikaze football and parking the bus...if you In ferred that from my comments you need to do better.

Not really. He had one good season in Germany which I think was a bit of a fluke .was abysmal with Germany, then won an uncompetitive la Liga last season while his defensive naivety reared its ugly head against inter.

The jury is still out on him and id be surprised if you win the cl this season. Way too poor defensively and the elite teams will punish it. Even the likes of levante punish it.

With all due respect, you seem the type of fan who always looks for positives..I prefer to interact with realists who call a spade a spade.
That's fine, but you are not a realist since you have arbitrary and subjective footballing opinions, such as valuing one player over another on an aesthetic basis. Calling Flick's tenure at Bayern a fluke is another judgment of the same character.

It's fine, we might not win the CL, and I'm not saying we will 100% since the team has weaknesses, but his Barca obviously CAN win it.

I nearly bit in my remote control. It was like a penalty, nobody in front of him, nobody close to him. Can't miss shots like this, especially in games like this.

But I think it's good that we have, the Germans call it "sand in the engine" during the start of the season. Everyone sees there is still a lot of work to do to compete for all titles. Not one part of the team is on the necessary level yet. Better to start this way, than rolling over your opponents, become arrogant and then November hits you like a brick again.

The football is so much nicer to watch. I am realising more and more how prevalent recency bias is in football. We had so many years of static football. Our players move so much more, play it fast and combine well. And more balanced as a team. Also closer to having winning mentality.

We’ve come some way.

I am barely worried when we are 2-0 down cause team believes they can overturn it.

The football has been entertaining, beautiful and exciting. Barcelona hasn’t played such great football since March 2016. Before the international break that nearly destroyed 2015-16. Every season since then delivered horrid football with small bursts of half decent football like the X4vi era and early 2022-23.

Come on dude calling the Bayern season a fluke after the season we saw last season at Barca is hilarious. The only difference was that Bayern had a better defence line than Barca which had also some injuries there vs Inter. Otherwise it would have been his second treble in his career.

Hansi Flick on the win against Levante:
“Levante defend very well and have very quick players in transition. Defending wasn’t easy if you made mistakes. We have to do better in that regard. In the first half we tried to create chances and score. Our first goal helped us a lot, we gained confidence in front of goal. But until the end it was not easy to win three points here. Of course, I’m proud. We tried to achieve a better result and take the three points. This victory helps us a lot for the next matches. We didn’t do everything perfectly, but I want to give great credit to Levante as well.”

… on Alejandro Balde’s handball that led to a penalty:
“When you concede that kind of penalty, you’re a bit angry. The referee looked at the situation and made his decision, and we have to accept it. What matters most to me is that we travel back to Barcelona with three points.”

… on Raphinha as a No. 10 and Marcus Rashford:
“Marcus had a few situations in the first half where he showed how good he is and how he can help us. We need to build on that. In the second half we had to change some things. They were the right changes.”

Has instilled an incredible winning mentality, evidenced by the insane number of comebacks. When firing on all cylinders, there's no better attacking side in the world, not even PSG.

That said, I'm disappointed in the over-reliance and naivety of the offside trap implementation. Every opponent's attack is half a chance against us. And don't tell me the lame excuse that if they score 4, we score 5, that shit doesn't always work, as evidenced by the Inter game last year. You can't be relying on our forwards scoring 100% of their chances, that's not realistic.

You don't play offside traps at the halfway line, that's ridiculous and rudimentary.

His style might be entertaining, and will probably work again in domestic competitions, but I doubt we'll win CL like this. I really really hope I'm wrong though.

With all due respect to Flick, something has to change with this defense…
A couple of months ago, he said the team didn’t have time to properly organize the defense because of the tight schedule. And then he added that they would pay a lot of attention to the defense in the summer, during preseason, etc.
But now the new season has started… and we’re still allowing way too many chances at our own goal. Something needs to change.

Based on last season’s experience, he’s not going to change anything in the big matches.

But what really worries me is the number of chances our opponents are creating against us. The problem isn’t that Levante scored two goals yesterday — there are games where the opponent barely creates any big chances but still scores twice.

But yesterday Levante had an xG of 1.8.

That’s a lot — way too much, considering that Levante was playing in the Segunda just last season.

STOOP WHININGGGG!!!!

It's Heavy Metal Football or bust. This is how we roll.
Get used to it, or you get off the next station.

We no playing no bitchass mid line. Its highline up at the opponents half.
Heck, if Araujo can reach the oppo penalty box in two strides, its even better.

Every squad player in this team will have 6+ goals this season. Even Joan Garcia.
THIS IS THE WAY.
