The tactics aren't the issue. It's the fact that the midfield is physically underwhelming and the defenders are clowns. High line, mid line or low block, these idiots are simply not good enough. Flick can take the horse to the well but he can't make him drink.
If you brought Lucho in there might be an initial honeymoon period but they'd implode afterwards.
Said it before. Get a proper, physical destroyer or two for midfield and the whole backline has to change or be reshuffled at least. I'd try Kounde and Martin at CB. Araujo and Cubarsi are back up defenders. One thinks he's Sergio Ramos, the other is a masia pussy.

The offside strategy wasn’t the problem in this game. The real issue was the choice of midfielders. Against a team that plays with such a high line, you need midfielders with strong tactical awareness and excellent ball control. I would have started an unfit Olmo over Fermin, and chosen García instead of Araújo
