I'm hoping the team goes back to playing good football sooner rather than later. It's a massive drop from what we showed last season in almost every area but the upgraded keeper.

Team does less pressing. Pretty much everyone from staff and players said it. Whole system hinges on collective effort and few players keep on talking about Balon d'Or, got distracted by girlfriends or just in general uncertainty with the registrations and the stadium mess. Most of all, it's the full belly syndrome.

What full belly? We got knocked out by Inter in the CL semis. We didin't get the job done, far from it. We let a weaker team knock us out.

First you reach the top, then you stay there and prove it was not a fluke, then yes, complacency becomes an issue. We didn't even get close to reaching the top.

As said before.

Player are arriving late again.. Pedri, Yamal, Raphinha and Lewa are talking about their chances in Balondor while others are scrapping over their instagram girlfriends.

Players need to get focused again and a lot different from a year ago.

The board are creating a whole host of distractions not needed also but hopefully calms down soon.

Added to all that teams have had a year to play against and look at the tactics.

Up to them all to get past that.

I hope it's the aftermath of a hard pre-season. I don't think it's a full belly syndrome, because they want to win the CL this season above anything else. The stadium doesn't affect them, since they didn't play for 2 years in the Camp Nou already. Registration problems as well as they're already there for years.

It's either the effects of the long and hard pre-season, or the aftermath of Flick's first physically very demanding season. If it's the latter, it's going to be very difficult to shake that off, so I hope they're just tired from the summer for now.

Hard constant pressing is hardly sustainable. But that kind of fall off should happen after 3 seasons, not just one.
Barca has skyrocketed in popularity again, and these players have too, because they are the first to form the proper 'new-look' Barca after Messi and they're becoming the new faces of the club.

The extra attention, fame, money etc after the tough couple years without Messi, is returning. Now the fans are crazy again, and the players have to handle that.

Jamdav is right that the players might lose motivation. It doesn't feel like Barca has its back against the wall anymore.

Also, if it is true that Gavi and Fermin were actually fighting over their girlfriend problems, they need to both be sanctioned and reminded they shouldn't bring their personal problems into the job. They're paid good money to be professional.

The same goes for whoever is coming late repeatedly.

I hope we are just micking about and taking it easy. Or figuring out some different ways to play.

I mostly care about how we start to play come December time onwards.

Yeah, but if you lose many points until december and Madrid don't it becomes very complicated to retain La Liga title. Last season we were a bit lucky Madrid dropped many points, and we were able to come back, but this season it will be more complicated.

CL aside, the big challlenge and something that we failed to do post Messi is achieve two back to back league winning campaigns. This is the major objective this season for me. It's a tall order if we don't up our level fast.

Agreed, but this is what needs to be managed as well. It's on Flick to maintain discipline and motivation in the squad.
