Also an addition to that:

I prefer a box player with great heading ability and off-ball movement. When you have a Messi/Mara behind you you dont need another version of Messi, even 2012 would drop back which is not needed. A pure striker who eats every ball he gets in the box is more useful. @Maradona37 feel free to share your opinion too

In other words, you like a player which is clutch in dying moments. And I do, too, for KO games, but football is so so much more than goals.

I am more of a romantic as you know, who loves dribbling, passing etc. I don't find heading or movement as beautiful to watch. However, these is no doubt that being able to evade markers and being fantastic at heading the ball are massive weapons in football - especially playing in teams which have great crossers high and low to maximise these advantages. We have seen this in Ronaldo sides.

If I had 1 sub in 85th minute I would take Ronaldo everyday and twice on Sunday though.

There are some things where I would take him over Pele, Maradona and Messi. Doesnt mean I think he is better overall.

Yeah guys but in THIS set-up we need an icecold striker who can make the box to his home.

Fair point.

Think Carragher's rebuttal when Neville said Ronaldo is a better sub is that Messi had scored more goals from the bench.

However, it's a bit of a silly argument as when would either of these players actually be coming off the bench? Once every few years after an injury. It's completely hypothetical.

I take on board though that the closer it gets to 90 minutes, maybe it suits Ronaldo better in this question - as you can just throw in crosses quickly.

I still think it's a pointless hypothetical though as players of this calibre are never sbus.

Good shout on Makelele. He would provide a lot of balance.

Do you prefer Zidane to Ronaldinho then? I know latter would play wider.
I prefer Ronaldinho to most players, the player who brought me the most joy as a Barca fan, but he would not be better than Zidane as an AM or than Cristiano as a LW. I tried to make a balanced squad.

If I made a 11 of my favorite players he would be there.
