This GOAT vs BOAT acronym battle is brainrot to me.

And your arguments are self contradicting since Messi is superior to Cristiano in every accomplishment, individual or collective. He has the most collective trophies, most individual awards which Cristiano himself praised until Messi surpassed him severly. Cristiano isnt even a better goal scorer since Messi is more efficient (games vs goals) and he has 150 less games played than the portuguese.

In terms of impact again Messi has been crucial in every trophy that his teams won, especially if we talk finals. Cristiano didnt have the same impact in some of these games.

Legacy is one of the things that define you as the Greatest. Messi was getting shoutouts since he was 22-23 year old. Most people in the sport (managers/players) say that he's the greatest they've seen. Similar to how Ronaldo Nazario is talked about when we mention the best striker. Most football legends that faced him are in awe of his influence.

And then about the World Cup vs UCL, everyone knows the World Cup is the epitome of football. Regardless if you win it as Brazil or as Denmark, this is the highlight of your career. And yet most people already saw Messi as the greatest even without winning it.

Messi is best player in football history. Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Cruyff, Di Stefano, Beckenbauer, Puskas, Van Basten and R9 enter the top 10 IMO.

I just think when you compare their careers, Ronaldo has a decent shot at being a greater player. Decimated every league. It's not like I am dissing Messi for being loyal, because I am not. He's just better at football than Ronaldo.

I also think the system player claims is biggest load of nonsense ever. Like he needed anyone to dribble past whole RM, Getafe or Bilbao in Copa for that matter. Same thing as being unproved in Premiership.

As I said countless times on here, Messi ( for me ) became the best player ever after Getafe goal 2007. If it's the best goal ever ( for me it is ), you auto assume it's the best player ever.

World Cup is DEFINETLY a bigger trophy than UCL. I am talking about winning 3 on the trot. Something that happened 3 times ( Real 1956 - 1960 ), Ajax (1971 - 1973) and Bayern (1974 - 1976).

Before Qatar, I used to repeat hours on end that Ronaldo was the greater player.

Ronaldo is brilliant and Messi is n1. That's all he said. But we know that.

Messi has 8 golden balls compared to 5, he needs 15 minutes less to contribute to a goal, and even in CL, where Ronaldo has most goals and assists, Messi has a better ratio and is more efficient.

If people actually paid attention to anything in football but goals, it would be a different story. Even there Messi has a better ratio. Not to mention Messi did it in 300 shots less etc. Ronaldo has 1 assist in his life against Barca ffs lol. Messi got 12 in 45 or something.
