He was excellent in this tournament. He previously lacked maturity and a cool head, but football IQ, vision, and technique were never a problem for him.
It will be interesting to see if he can maintain his level next season as he's no spring chicken (though the way he plays is very conducive to a long career).

Not gonna lie I feel that it's weird we weren't even interested in him for 15m euros. That ship has sailed now I guess but could have been a good signing.
Could use him right now as we need a DM and more presence in the midfield, he could actually be a great fit with the rest of our midfielders, giving some physical/defensive balance whilst still being more than good enough to keep up technically.

Found a system at Leverkusen but Barca were never going after him for what he shown at Arsenal.
