He was absolutely woeful today. One step forward, two steps back.

Liverpool desperately need rid of Slot though.

Wirtz is worldclass but what do you think about isak 140 million?
No preseason. Constant injuries. Dysfunctional team. Too early to judge.

But it's a massive risk and definitely a flop season. We needed another striker after we signed Ekitike but not sure we needed such an expensive superstar signing. Not my money though and the club is still nowhere near FFP limits (very well run by the board) so don't care about the money aspect tbh. We can still spend hundreds of millions if we want without breaking any rules. Unlike City, our sponsors and revenues are very real and organic.

We desperately need a new starting CB and a fast dribbling winger profile to replace Luis Diaz.

He's definitely a good, talented player, but far too small a sample size and far too mediocre a run of teams to be going over the top.

Typical that people are expected to change an opinion they hold based on 7 games, though. If they rated him before this should reinforce that. If they were sceptical there needs to be more evidence.

I think he's good but not worth the money they paid for him. I am not so shallow as to suddenly change my mind based on a small sample size, especially when they haven't even been winning. Players have purple patches all the time.

This post is nothing against Wirtz - it's a critique of the modern fan thinking where you don't or do rate a player then you're meant to suddenly change your mind based on a small run of games (especially when most won't have even watched all those games and will just be taking the word for it based on 'stats' and 'MOTM', the latter of which is heavily influenced by the former).

My overall view is that he's a quality player to a point, but not good enough to be the main man in a team that dominates an era. That doesn't mean he cannot be a useful, quality player. But the former is what they expect of him with the money that paid for him and the hype surrounding him. Given that, it will take A LOT more than a run of games where Liverpool are barely even winning to change my mind (or the mind of anyone with a bit of substance and courage of their convictions).

That's not me putting him down - he can be a very successful player. But I think the hype in the summer was a bit much and it puts some guys off.

Yo love Musiala, he is the superstar of Germany but more the individual attacking guy and even though Flo is also best as a attacking midfielder he can push the offense with his insane passes, Musiala better to dribble and create space

Flo, Musiala, Woltemade - Germany is fire 💯
Yeah Germany actually has a good squad for WC until you remember who's on goal

Hold up right there

Musiala might be on stand by but he's not dead
Even Bayern hierarchy and officials openly said he's the best German player of this generation.

They desperately wanted him.

Musiala is just a better dribbler. Wirtz is the better Footballer. Musiala often doesn't look up to see his teammates. He just keeps endlessly dribbling with his head down. Wirtz is the best at scanning the pitch and his vision is exquisite (best vision now that Messi and KDB have declined).

Ask any Bundesliga or German NT fan. Wirtz is the main man not Musiala. Every manager wants to build the team around Wirtz. Even Klopp and De Zerbi said that recently.

Won the best player in the Bundesliga 2 seasons back to back. Musiala hasn't even come close to it once.
