But they also can't afford to get complacent and believing in their own ego.
They lost on Yoro because they thought Lille would fumble and give him for cheap, or they will get him on free. They lost on Davies because they believed they can get him on their terms. They were lucky with the later due to ACL, though.
But now, they need almost a player in every defensive position, and at least one midfielder. I doubt they can afford that without some good sales.
Coaching decision will be critical too. Ancelotti has overachieved there, but RM isn't a club where coaches settle there long term. Perez always had issues picking a coach, and it is why he reserves to former ones. Alonso is obvious choice but is he going to accept the job? Does he fit the squad and the hype?

Don't know about that. They had to sell their VIP seats as well to remain a positive annual financial statement. Now Mbappe weighs on their books, his salary of 25m + his hand money of 100-150m devided by his contract length makes up to around 50m/y in total.
I think they'll need to sell a big player to buy a big player.

Their transfer net spend since 20/21 was 1,85m (income). And they have a completed stadium now.

No idea what their transfer budget or what their salary cap is, but I am guessing it's high.

In case they need to make sales, they are good at doing those too and have plenty of underperforming yet marketable players they could sell.

Edit: Yeah, I hadn't considered Mbappe's singning bonus

He definitely means they can go a season without winning, with all they've won recently, which is true.

If they need to sell they have 3 Left wingers in there squad can easily sell one.

Papa P will fix it in the summer are at least attempt to.

With Alonso coming in they'll need to buy players that fit his system.

Net transfer is mute point. They paid 150M signing bonus for Kylian and in this equation he cost 0, same for other free agents.
They are wealthy, they 300M more in salary cap over us atm, no doubt.

But they don't have a single defender who can play from the back atm, not a single controlling midfielder, even their attack lacks a true RW.

They have bigger needs than most teams. They are likely to need sales, so they will need to make the right decisions in the market. Selling the wrong players or signing the wrong players (preferably both) will set them back significantly now.

Obviously, if they get it right, they will have the best team in the planet, since they already have the star power and the GK for it.

I think they only sign three players.

Hujisen as CB, Trent as RB on free transfer and a CM/CDM like Zubimendi possibly.

I can see them selling Rodrygo.

The worst for Barca would be if they sold Vini for a huge fee and brought in a CF.. possibly RW but Rodrygo does a job there.

Their whole back four and a controlling mid needs looked at and Real are not afraid of big windows when they need it and will push the button on it if season is a failure.

Even with a controlling midfielder like Zubi would still fancy Barca to control the midfield as Bellingham and Valverde are not the best at that and strengths lie elsewhere.

More control in midfield allows then to take ball up park and more crosses again and that helps Bellingham at AM and his runs into the box also as well as a potential CF.

I'd be surprised if they sell Vinicius and more so if he actually agrees to leave them considering every other option would be a massive downgrade.

Maybe they try to sign Haaland in 2-3 years though if Endrick doesn't prove to be the long-term solution by then.

Zubimendi would improve them, but I wouldn't be too worried about him.
