We have renewed 11 players (Tek, Cubarsi, Araujo, Martin, Gavi, Fermin, Pedri, Raphinha, Lamine, along Inigo and Lewa) and almost finalised two other renewals (Casado and Bernal)

That is 13 players in total, at least 10 of those had pay raise that is very significant while barely any effect on amortization (only Lewa and Raphinha were bought sith significant price, I don't know if Lewa contract was amortized on 3 or 4 years).

We will surely renew Eric with significant raise too.

I won't be surprised those renewals alone are adding 50M+ to the squad cost, and that is assuming those players aren't being paid signing bonuses.
I might be wrong here, and read it somewhere on twitter, that since Yamal is an academy product and also not 18 when the new financial year starts, his amortization or wage will have a significant less impact on our wage bill.
Or something like that.

You are the finance guy, you know better than me. So I am just curious.

It won’t reduce the impact overall, since the squad cost limit is still calculated the same way. But it does provide more security, not just for academy players but for any player under 24 who’s been with the club for at least three seasons. The key change is that clubs can now register these players even if they’re over the salary cap.

That means we’d be able to renew and register Yamal regardless of our current salary cap situation. However, once registered his full cost still counts against the limit like normal.

It's a shame Bartomeu screwed us over so badly we still have to struggle with our salary cap.

We're potentially losing out on some really good players and talents last years due to issues with potentially registering them.

So one quarter of PSG wage bill goes to Dembele.

You believe those numbers?

Nobody in their right mind believes PSG don't involve financial benefits from Qatar directly to the players without those payments going through PSG's books. PSG is just one of the many companies or structures Qatar uses to fund their operations.

If I have 10 companies including a football club, what is stopping me from using my other companies to sign sponsorships with my own players? Surely sponsorships Barca players receive are not considered spending by Barca. In the case of PSG it is basically money going from Qatar to PSG's players in various forms using different channels.

Is there a rule that blocks PSG from using QSI to pay PSG's stars money to promote Qatar or something? Doubt it. They can pay them a lot of money to sponsor camel races in Doha or some bullshit. It's like that. PSG are just one company they can use to pay players. There are others most likely. And everybody knows that the money is tied to the player's contract with PSG, despite what the papers say. Players don't care where the money comes from.

Football is fucked anyways.
At least we are witnessing some good football and traditional European clubs getting humiliated.
Which is all I want.
