Spain played well in tournament and played a style that got them to within penalty shout of final in a game they dominated.

You are on full copium mode mate . You always talk of tiki-taka as of a style that is sterile and does does not generate any chances once the opponent figures it out, without a plan B. However, Spain dominated this tournament in chance creation and no opponent knew how to stop them from doing it. It was not sterile at all, not in a million years. It was quality possession-based attacking football. The absence of a top striker and left/right winger is what cost them. So just admit you do not like the style aesthetically instead of trying to rationalize your hard-on for 4-4-2.

But from the perspective of the whole trajectory and tournament thus far Italy still deserves it more than Spain.
