Pretty much... Setién has never coached a single CL match and his biggest accomplishment is winning Segunda A...
So we went from a middle table coach to a Segunda coach... We need someone with experience at winning, be it as a player or coach, just look at Zidane leading RM yesterday, he has the mentality and leadership required even if he is not that good tactically... But here we are giving a job to guys clearly not cut to it...

You can't hire great coaches for short term in the middle of the season. Who did Bayern get? Who did Madrid get 2 years ago? Solari.
. And CL experience is a plus not nearly the main criteria. Allegri has plenty of CL experience and he'd have been a terrible choice.Our squad alone should be enough to win they just need someone to free them and keep them focused

I would expect people to support Setien until proven wrong with 2 massive cl bottlejobs, a missed cup final against the likes of Valencia, weird squad selections and terrible football. Anything less will just be hypocrisy. We can't have it both ways. At least, let him be here for a couple of days before you say he is a yes man or worse than EV or anything. Just enjoy the beautiful moment of looking at our bench and not seeing the squating cockroach.
We were most likely not winning the league or ucl this year. Especially with Suarez out who is a huge part of how Valverde scored goals with this squad. Setien isn’t ideal or much of an improvement. One things for sure though it’s worth giving him a chance over allowing Valverde to finish this season. His football is more in line with the players we have in the squad, whether he can pull it off, well we’ll see.

He is a temporary coach, so I think given the circumstances I would say he is our best option. I think he will do well in the next 6 months.

Real got Zidane mid season twice and Klopp joined Liverpool mid season so it is possible sometimes. I know you said short term, though
