Ernesto Valverde

Well now, this is interesting.
You just stated that Suarez was part of the reason why you won so much in recent years, not Valverde.

By the same logic, we can also disprove that, just by looking at all the comments made in the Suarez-thread over the years.

In fact, dont bother, we dont have to, we all know that the was majority of them are negative.

Nothing like a Real fan cheering the coach who most made Barcelona a meme. Sorry bro, can't take you seriously.

What? Nothing of the sort. Suarez and Messi gave EV the titles he won because they were playing at a very high level together. The CL is not an individual affair but depends on the overall strength of a team; here's where EV's liabilities were exposed: sheer inability to properly construct a team to challenge over two legs and complete reliability on Messi and Suarez.

If comments can prove that EV was a shit coach, why cant comments also prove that Suarez was a shit striker, by your logic?

I didn't claim they 'proved' anything; they are an indication of the overall impression here. My point in bringing them up was simply to show how easily we forget how terrible EV was because we are no longer subjected to his abysmally shitty football every week and to an annual CL humiliation. They are not meant to show anything other than that. Among those many comments you'll also find the very same people defending EV today wanting him sacked, lol.

Still crying about the best coach we've had lately?

CL humiliations are Barca's trademark nowadays, started before Valverde, continued after him. Didn't have the character to turn it around, shame. If it was possible with a squad full of Alba's sort.

Talk about shame...this is one of the guys who was cartwheeling for valverde all season then disappeared for like a year the moment we lost 4-0 :lol:

I don't understand how people can willfully defend EV. He is not a bad coach, but a club like Barca that had the stature from 17-19 cannot be satisfied with a mediocre coach. All other top European teams would have fired him after Liverpool or the CDR final loss after that. He has not even been hired yet by the likes of Bilbao or Betis.

Look, I just don't want this club to turn into an Arsenal where we celebrate the Audi Cup and Catalunya Cup

Glad I'm not the only sane person here. We have a bunch of wanna-be Arsenals in here, happy with getting humiliated repeatedly and never winning anything.

He turned down Bilbao holding out for a top premier league club

Good coach then, good coach now

All the echo chamber whining would've been boring to put up with, admit that

Here we go again..
The team fell short against Roma and had a fuck up.
Shit happens. Then next season we go in the first leg with a totally wrong setup, get dominated and literally bailed out by Messi, Suarez and luck. We change the setup mid game and it's pretty even after that. And what does the imbecile do next leg? He goes with the same setup that got dominated. You can't make this up. The team did fail to score, but we had a 3 fucking goal lead, so that shouldn't be a problem, should it?
No need to exonerate EV for that one.

Barca didnt get dominated at Anfield though. The game was even on balance of play and had chances to score which would kill the game. There was too much poor finishing and individual errors/concentration.

There is absolutely nothing a coach can do when Alba makes that mistake in opening minutes of game and sets the tone from there.
