In such matches, it is impossible to play from the bench, especially since we have problems with goals all season. Interaction and experience are in the first place, and we had 6 forwards on the field. 6. And there are no goals. Well, Galatasaray just stood and fought back.

There wasn't so much rotation. 2nd half with all these subs has shown that it wouldn't have been much different with the best XI.

Gala defended very well and no one really got dangerous bar that shot from Memphis and Frenkie hitting the goalpost.

Not a good game by any standards, but Gala just had a very good one and was tactically well prepared. Let's see if they can do it for 180mins

Limp dick performance. Xavi should have played strongest 11 from the start. Treated it like a training session.
At least they will attack us in the second leg. That will open up space for us.

Pena passed his audition with flying colors. BIG performance. Was so so calm and composed even in his passing and when under pressure a couple of times in the first half. Plus so reliable on high balls and obviously made some great saves too. Exactly the opposite of Ter Statue, who would've again conceded from the first shot on target, if Gomis wasn't offside. The German better watch out next season, just hoping this was enough for Xavi to give Inaki a fair shake in the first team next season.

This was not about lack of quality. The team was too complacent and you could see it from the start. The weight and direction of passes slightly off, inert pressing, languid body language from everyone, etc. We took it for granted that we would win, which should never happen in European tournaments.

Garcia has good head on his shoulders. He knew it.

We needed Gavi the terrier for this match. He always lifts the spirit.
