Rumours circulating the last couple of days that we are interested in this RB beast...

The player has said in interviews that it's his dream to play for Barca

Imagine now we get this monster RB, and ship out the imbecile that starts at RB for Barca.
Can you name a better upgrade in football?

He is a bit older, but for around 3 season he should be good. And if we could sell Kounde for big money, it would be a nobrainer.

Yeah, this is a typical international break rumour.

It has almost zero chance of happening, even if we sell Kounde.

Guy will be 30 in the summer and won't be available for a reasonable price. At most it will be Ratiu to compete with Kounde, or maybe go for the older Doue.

Absolute beast @Birdy but he's a wing back not really a full back.

But ofcourse you can coach him into an FB in a hyper attacking system.

Feel free to ask me anything about his game.

I have seen bits of him both at Palace and with the Colombian NT

He is exactly the type of fullback we need coupled with Lamine: super mobile, can bomb forward all the time with crazy runs, knows what to do with the ball when he is close to the box or around, can dribble

The exact opposite of Kounde in other words.

I don't mind so much that he is more of a wing-back, because at Hansi's system we need attacking force from the fullbacks, especially the RB. When Lamine has the ball, the RB needs to take very advanced positions and know what to do when receiving there

Fun fact: Even though he's a wingback, he's actually really good defensively and has excellent work rate and defensive intensity. Another feature of his game is underlapping runs. He's a pretty big GA threat. Really good at driving with the ball too.

I don't mind him being older tbh. We have some good RB prospects in academy so he could serve us well until they are ready

Just not sure about the price. I reckon Palace won't let him go for cheap. Why would they?

He'll be too expensive considering his age. Contract is until 2028. Good player though, would add speed and aggression in our defense.

With capable sporting director this kind of deal could be possible even in our situation. We could sell Kounde for more money than buying Munoz so we would have a fullback more suited to our style of play + some leftover money for other positions.

But of course Deco isn't capable of neither selling Kounde nor buying Munoz.

We aren't 1:1 and if you buy with over the value it won't matter that much, you still can't register him. After all this years, that should have been clear by now.

And Kounde did well last year, it was the right decision to keep him. Everyone this year is struggling physically, with the exception of Eric maybe.

If we did what you said, and he got injured or lost a step like the rest of the team, everyone will be crying how we downgraded and got older player at the same time.

This is not a singular issue with Kounde, he's just part of the overall downgrade in performances that can be tied to most if not all players. He's just not a fan favorite compared to other players.

Everyone plays well under last season's level. The only real upgrade compared to last season is Joan Garcia maybe helping us a lot more by making some clutch saves when we desperately need them. And even that, it doesn't always work, as if you can rely on 1 vs 1s saves regularly and consider that as a team asset.

Pressing is worse, defense is worse since pressing is our only form of defense really, Yamal is worse, Olmo is worse, you name it, and at this moment we are not even at 60-70% compared to last season in many areas. Most of it is down to Flick and each of the players we have to cut the shit and get back to what we were last season at least.

It's not on Kounde that pressing in midfield and attack has been shite and everyone attacks our backline for fun with little to no pressing on the ball carrier for example.
