This is US' consumer focused culture in its purest form. Hype and propaganda is more important than the product itself. If you hype it big enough, enough people will eat literally shit and pay for it.
This tournament is an insult to the sport, letting world's best teams play against semi-professionals and call it a world cup. That's not a competition, this is a show like everything in the US.
