Who do you play instead of Busi? Puig? As much as I hate Busi now, I think I start with him. We don't have any other option. Pjanic would be disaster and Puig it would be too tough start. He can come in as a sub.

I would start with Puig. It's a big risk but Busquets has been a major factor in all those humiliations. I will take youth and inexpensive over Busquets.

The closer it gets more pessimistic i am:
This season against strong sides:

Barca - sevilla 1:1
Barca - real m 1:3
Atm - barca 1:0
Juve barca 0:2
Barca juve 0:3
Sevilla barca 2:0

Thats 4:10 goal difference with 1 win, 1 draw and 4 loses in 6 games.

The only win came with 3 rightefully denied offside goals by morata, so it wasnt that we were superior side by some margin.

Thats a terrible record

Only one of those games was played in 2021. I think we're a different (and better) team now than we were at the start of the season. Despite losing last week I'd say we played better against Sevilla than we did in the league game against them in October.

Also, we've beaten Athletic twice. They are one of the better teams in the league this year. Their only two losses in last 11 games were against us.

I am not saying either way. I just wanted to know if statistics back these up. For example the Atletico game was very close. One mistake from us cost the game. The personal mistakes have cost us the most in my eyes.

there is always a personal mistake being made when a goal is conceded. a midfielder not tracking back a player, a defender being poorly positioned, the gk coming out too late for a cross. can you describe to me a goal that is not someones mistake?

Also, we've beaten Athletic twice. They are one of the better teams in the league this year. Their only two losses in last 11 games were against us.

wtf?! they are on 10th place. they usually get their form up vs real or barca in some games, but can't sustain a decent rhythm to be competitive in the league.

I never said Messi or any of the other players were getting praised at start of season but since just before xmas and turn of year since team improved. Seems it is ok to hype Messi/Suarez vs the same 'trash teams' but not others.

If Messi is top three in world this season and Suarez is having a great season it is against the same 'trash teams' that others get dismissed for.

you always make this comparison. mate, suarez and messi are the best players in their teams right now. one is keeping them top of the league, the other is the main finisher and creator of the team.

yes, you could say that they've not performed so well against the bigger teams also. but they do so much more than griezmann. the french pussy simply cannot be relied on when we have to get a result.

Yes the comparison is made with Messi and Suarez and as best players on team they would also be held to only doing it v 'trash teams' this season if used for other players.

Can say keeping team top of league v 'trash teams' which shows these games count and so do performances in them. It is just double standards to find reasons to dismiss players dont like.

Your logic says Suarez gets more credit for a last minute winner v a 'trash team' than Griezmann does when scores/assists first two goals and scores third in a 4-0 win.. but when he does score a winner it is just dismissed as a 'tap in'. Constant mental gymnastics to find 'reasons' every time.

Not this season cant claim been better at getting results v top teams. Griezmann has helped team get results no matter how often repeat that same line.

I'm talking about this calendar year. They've been on the rise since Marcelino took over right before we've played them in La Liga at San Mames. Wouldn't surprise me much if they would caught up with Sociedad/Villarreal for a top 5/6 finish before the end of the season and they have a chance to win two Copas. They're clearly a good team.

Valencia falling apart is not just because of him leaving (they shouldn't let him go though) but he's one of the best Spanish and La Liga managers over the last 10-15 years. Before Valencia he also did well at Villarreal and also led Racing Santander to the UEFA Cup already back in 2008. I'm sure he'll also turn around Bilbao and make them a possible contender for 4th place next season (don't say they'll surely finish there as Sevilla is still a stronger team and so are clearly AM, Barca and RM - despite the later two being in rebuild). Which would be incredible achievement with a very limited talent pool they can get their players from.

The only thing against Marcelino is everytime I see him I get that image of him as a player in my head. Running around skinny as a shrimp with those nobbly knees showing.

It's hard to take a man seriously after that, although Marcelino has almost challenged it by becoming manager.

PSG are now +265. A $37 bet wins $100.

Is there something I don’t know here?? I see this tie as more 50/50. Barca are extremely vulnerable defensively.

Hopefully the odds makers are right and it’s a big Barca win.

The bookies dont strictly make odds based on likely outcome as much as where they expect the money to come and to cover themselves.

I think he will go with this

MATS---Mingueza, DJ, Lenglet, Alba---Pedri, Busi, Puig---Dembele, Messi, Griezmann

Now that they are reports saying that Dest is 100%, gonna change my predicted lineup

MATS---Dest, Mingueza, Lenglet, Alba---DJ, Busi, Pedri---Dembele, Messi, Griezmann

Nervous and excited for this match!
