I don't know what you are. You consistently twerk for EPL clubs and are absolutely rattled that Barca got lucky in a CL knockout game for first time in decades

We will see for Bayern and Arsenal when team is fully fit physically and in good form. Today we missed 4 starters when game began and later on in 2nd half we missed 6-7 starters. Considering lack of depth this is a big blow

Who do I “twerk” for? Are you telling me that Arsenal aren’t a better team than Barcelona right now? This is the kind of delusion I referred to earlier.

Who cares that you were missing players. Newcastle were too and they have a squad smaller than your own. And the PL is far more physically demanding than La Liga whatever you think about the two leagues.

Not WITH the same players though

Frenkie was a big miss. Probably our fullbacks as well as much as we shit on them. Raphinha was there but absent
Frenkie, yes. Funnily enough Balde got injured in that match against Atleti.

But I was mostly talking about our physical level. Tonight we looked miles of the pace(like Jamdav said) intensity wise, and imo those 90 minutes of full pressing last week, with another hard match against Bilbao at the weekend was the main reason for the poor showing tonight.

No no.

Only the precious Barca players feel tired.

Atleti run ragged by Barca a week ago and tough game at weekend... did fine.

Newcastle chasing City all game a few days ago and less players rested.. did fine.
Point wasn't to insinuate that they didn't do well against us, but rather that their two games before us were against Manchester United and Manchester City. They face Chelsea this weekend before heading to the Camp Nou. Thats a tough schedule for anyone and benefits us.

Exactly and I agree.

Excuses being made by others as if Barca out of gas and some ungodly run of games made worse by Flick.

'It is complete nonsense.

They are harder to beat but a better team how?

They play dogshit football and get results. Only difference between them and us is when we do it we get crucified by general public because we are a big club with history and clear football identity that actually involves playing football

We will 90℅ qualify in the second leg even though we played horrible in this first leg. Arsenal would likely be horrible over both legs and qualify. Where is the difference again?

They play cowardly anti-football centered around results only. I have no respect for them as a team

Ugh, that was a really really shit performance.
I hold us to high standards so I can't be anything but critical.

They destroyed us in the physical battle, their mid-block disrupted our build up game and they kept pressing/closing spaces for nearly 90 minutes. They were simply superior to us but their own lack of forward quality meant they couldn't convert. In addition, the individual performances were really poor; Lamine was SMOKED by Hall, Pedri found it difficult to get his game flowing with Joelinton in his ear every time he got the ball. Cancelo/Araujo can't play out of a high press and Cubarsi/Martin is an accident waiting to happen. Finally, Raph looks like he's back playing for Leeds United; so many unforced errors. Infact, the amount of unforced errors tonight was incredible; I was screaming with frustration.

It's when we play these physical, high spirit, high pressure teams with this squad/setup, you really see how vulnerable we are. If we played anyone of actual quality tonight, we'd have lost, HARD.

Much food for thought, but we didn't deserve a draw, in any case.

One other thing - Newcastle (with Gordan back) will absolutely have the ability to knock us out next week. This talk of a good result for us is utter fucking nonsense.

It was a worrying performance from a Barcelona prespective - I have barely watched you this calendar year, but know you've been winning most games. But that was playing into their hands with the high line, as that's all Newcastle really do to create chances - be physical, powerful, power through the midfield with the likes of Joelinton, and ping balls up the channels with Hall and Trippier.

But 1-1 should be fine. Be worried if it was a loss, but I cannot imagine Newcastle not losing in Camp Nou.

Whoever thinks we’re up there with the Europe’s best is deluded. Too thin a squad and a serious lack of quality for that. Scamming our way to the semis would be a big win in my book.

Absolutely. The important thing is to go through these bad times trying to win as many domestic titles as possible. For CL push we can't luck our way through completely.
