First goal – high line to blame. Second goal – no defensive cover (far too high a risk on the corner). Third goal conceded – high line to blame. I also think the defenders aren't the best, but Flick gives instructions to keep the line at the halfway line when the opponent takes a throw-in near the middle. Why? Maybe I criticized Cubarsi unfairly. It's the system. I compared it to Bayern in the first half yesterday; they never played that high. I hope they change the system, otherwise we won't win anything. Although, to be fair, Barca could just as easily have scored six goals.

I was distracted from match but I saw one 1-2, the easiest 1-2 with Fermin's assist to Yamal. Few min later Yamal tries a 1-2 with Fraud and Fraud halts and recycles.

Just sad.

Both teams 2.14 xG but we had 13 more shots than them. Insha-shooting just nasty.

Yeah, our form is absolute trash, top8 gone. Need to do the PSG turn around from last season somehow.
Lol what :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Overreacting much? We play Chelsea (who we can easily outscore) Frankfurt (who have an even worse defense than us, and that's very hard to achieve), Slavia (who isn't nearly as strong at home as Brugge) and Copenhagen (basically another Olympiakos level game) left. So that's 9-12 points, at worst 7-9. That gets us on 15-19 points, and last season 16 was enough to finish top 8. So just stop.

lol chill you expecting miracles from him with these defence players who wouldnt even sit on the bench at other top teams
Exactly. Garcia (his versatility and somewhat improvement in easier games is cute and everything, but he) wouldn't start for any other top 10 club. Starting at a midtable club like Palace/Valencia is his ceiling. Or being a pure backup at a club like City with a manager who likes him, but still playing only Carabao cup games and an occasional dead rubber league game...come to think of it that was actually his perfect level. Christensen although solid when playing and has the brain and ability to play for us, is sadly a cripple now, almost on the level of Vermaelen now.

Araujo will never have the IQ to play at a top level (maybe he'd be solid only in a defensive minded team like Atletico/Juve where he could only focus on pure defending, but as a whole package for Barca he's shit). Cubarsi is suffering since Inigo left and his form is in the shitter this season. Clearly suffering from a lack of a leader in a partner, kinda like a Pique needing his Puyol (we should really go all out for either Van de Ven or at least Schlotterbeck in that regard, but that's a pipe dream, and I'm afraid Cubarsi will be further deteriorating until we get him a great leader to pair up with). While Kounde has been brain dead for months now.

We already knew that. Even if we still had Iñigo and everyone healthy. You dont win a non covid CL with this defensive system.

The reason we lost in the CL semis last season was a lack of depth it's also the reason we suck now.

With the awful form he's in, Kounde would be benched by now in any serious top team, but we just don't have a natural substitute for him. Rashford has been decent but he doesn't work half as hard as Raphinha does. Ferran tries his best but he's not good enough to be a consistent starter at striker. Nobody can replace Pedri obviously but Casado is just a complete miss in everything.

Our best 11 are all fatigued, injured or unmotivated and there's nothing we can do about it because there's no one actually challenging for their spots.

It's only November but one thing is certain: Barcelona is not going to win the CL this season.

The quality of this squad is atrocious defensively.

I think this is a rough patch we're going through and we can still turn it around.
The real competition starts in the ko phase. If we can qualify and gain some momentum and form in February we have a slight chance.
I think Flick overachieved in his first season and this has led to some unrealistic expectations.
Laporta has to back Flick and bring in some reinforcements in January similar to when Xavi came in at first. If we can get a decent cb or fb on loan this would help immensely.

We could have scored few more easily. Did hit the post 3 times.
Ref was bad as well. Gave them non-existent penalty and allowed their goal that was obvious foul. No yellow for Bruges for obvious kick on Kounde and then only a late yellow (after irritating Yamal) and protests. Point being: ref killed the game flow in second part of 2nd half.

We have our own flaws and we talked about those. Just wanted to state few things and say all is no lost.
