They were pathetic today in that first half - to start the match as shockingly as they started, then Sanchez's idiocy. They were making mistakes galore.

They were better in second half when it was even up in numbers, but still didn't create anywhere near enough (giving allowances for the worse rain in second half).

I am still not convinced by them. Think they can get fourth at best. Liverpool, Arsenal and City (still) are definitely better sides.

They also need to keep Palmer fit and it's a worry for them, he's been picking up injuries. They're half the team without him. They could do with Lavia being fit too, and playing Pedro a bit deeper.

Far too many players too, and Maresca makes tactical and sub errors. Jury still out for me. What do you think @soul24rage

Imagine spending so much money and still ignoring the positions you needed the most (GK and CB)!!
They have a million centre-backs yet none who are that good, it's bizarre.

Same with goalkeepers, actually.

Someone needs to tell these lads quality beats quantity.

Currently, the team is top 4 right now imo, but there is still a gap between the top 2 and Chelsea.

They do need a better GK and need a better manager than Maresca. Should be doing a lot better with the squad he has.

Too many players too. It's hard to build chemistry. Tbf that's not Maresca's fault.

I think you probably rate their overall squad more than I do, but yes, they have some good players, mostly in midfield and attack, and I like Reece James.

Sounds like you rate them above City, or at least near City (gap between Chelsea and top two you said, and not top three).

“I think the feeling with the 11-on-11 game was that we were doing well, controlling the match and not conceding anything,” he told reporters.
“You know it better than I do: Barcelona is comfortable with the ball, and without it they struggle more. We wanted to make Barcelona run because we know that’s where they suffer. If you give them the ball, they’re comfortable, so we had to take it away from them as quickly as possible.
“It’s a great victory because it’s against Barcelona, but it doesn’t change who we are or what we want to achieve. It’s an important match, but it’s just one match, because we have another one this Sunday.” - Maresca

They are a world class CB and GK away from challenging for everything.

That Caicedo Palmer Estevao triangle is absolutely disgusting.

I said than months ago, you're late.

Just proves what 1b can do.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool 1B investment over X number of years.

Really difficult stuff

Chelsea have their tentacles in a lot of very promising players around world also.

Add to that they have just gone 50 games with no player over 30.

Well set.
