Some say it doesn't matter and that football is about technique and smart movement.
But majority of our homegrown guys couldn't tell fuck off to a journo, let alone to an opponent in do or die moments of final matches (our guys will avoid fights, they'll be pushed and bullied around and they'll put their heads down and sulk).

Oh, well:

** A journo asked him: how do you respond that Liverpool played better than Real?
Kroos responded something like: you had 90 minutes to think of two questions and you came with these shitty questions, go away, f off.

You think Perez signed 16 year old Vinicius Jr because he was a "mentality monster", same dude that was crumbling under pressure little less than a year ago? You think he signed a young Benzema because of his mentality?

He signed them because of their ability. That's it. All professional footballers in elite clubs are mentally strong, what mostly differentiates them is ability. We don't have anyone like Vinicius in our team; speed, power, technique, lethal dribbling and finishing. There's no one like Benzema in our team; a complete number 9 in his prime capable of playing anywhere in front and dropping deep in midfield, with more than a decade of experience behind him. There's no one like Modric or Casemiro in our team, our midfielders are either overhyped teenagers, semi-retired veterans, or overhyped dutchman with no set position to play in. In our team there's no one like Mendy in either fullback lanes: fast, physical, tall, ridiculous stamina and recovery ability; instead we've got the midget Jordi Alba that's losing his speed with every passing week. We've got lethargic CBs either young or almost retired, whereas their CBs are fast, young, and hungry. Their backup midfielders are the best youngsters in the world with already seasons of experience behind them, our backups is the permanently jack of all trades Sergi Roberto and again, talentless La Masia players.

The difference isn't some supernatural mentality crap or luck, the difference is recruitment. The difference is Perez's cutthroat recruitment, and Barcelona's recruiment misguided by obsessive romanticism hinged with catalan pride, beautiful football or whatever.

There must be a big difference how Real mentally prepares these players to Barcelona. No way it's the same. Mental game can be learned like football. It just takes learning and someone to teach you.

Very strange that record. Something you would expect from northern nations with superior nerves. But then again, they are descendants of the Germanic Goths.

Anyway, congratulations to Real. Now that that's been said; may they rot in hell.

Liverpool have been knocked out by Spanish sides for 3 of the last 3 Champions League seasons, and 4 of the last 5.

I guess that ends the debate on which is the superior league.

Would've been 5 out of 5 if Barca wouldn't have fucked up.

True that they have better recruitment.

But also true that they are not whiny bitches and don't crumble. They have their own issues as well. You know for games against City and Chelsea they played a CB pairing of Nacho-Militao? Even the most biased person can't say that's better than Araujo-Pique. Not exactly young hungry world class beast pairing.

But they don't bitch endlessly about their problems and got on with it, and manage them.

Then, the 'overhyped no position Dutchman' the same thing was said much about Valverde, who is a similar type of player, and you saw how he played yesterday. Put in a role that suits his characteristics, using his stamina to get up and down the field and cover for his teammates. Unlike us where we push square pegs into round holes.

Vinicius - if he had played here instead of Madrid in his first years, fans would have crucified him and he would get thrown out with us begging any team to take him like we do with our out of favour players.

Framing and perspective is key because they could have a lot of the same problems we do with our squad. They just manage it better.

Real were very clever. Tactically they have been superb throughout the CL. Not pretty to watch in the final but they did what needed to be done to win. I guess people will say Liverpool had much more chances and Courtois saved Real but football is about taking chances and keeping the other team out. Real had one good chance and buried it. And they defied 7 or 8 good opportunities for Liverpool. Carlo has proven once again he is a true master in Champions League football. What a disappointing end to the season for Liverpool though, so close to greatness but failed at the last hurdle.

One would think they?d learn some humility about not projecting themselves as next years finalists / winners but this is the same club that gave the football world the ?next year is our year la? gold.
