EPL allowing a ManU side that hasn't won 5 games in a row in over 2 year to be 3rd in the table says it all. Maybe they are still #1 because the other leagues are also not making a convincing case for themselves (Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal were dogshit in the groups) but they are also not "by far the best and most entertaining league". What happens in EPL is that they have money to elevate the midtable sides to a higher more competitive level. But at the top, you're fighting with bigger clubs for players, that have big money also. So the better players still go to likes of Madrid, PSG, Bayern. Barca less so but only because of money. When Raphinha and Kounde had offers from Barcelona vs other big EPL sides at comparative money, it was only one place they would go.
