Yeah also they started triple teaming Doku who was City's biggest threat in those first mins

Yeah fairly early on he did a beautiful bit of skill and a cutback that someone should have got the end of. Then he did a shift one way and back to skin Trent but cross was blocked.

He was the outlet and biggest threat but they seem to have neutralised him.

That's because football was definitely a lot more end to end before 2008. Less tactical in that sense.

Barca and Guardiola influenced the game so much with pressing, passing and maintaining dominance in possession. It's a crude description but it sort of splits games into one possession team and one counter (though the best sides, even Barca and Man City, do both and adapt).
