Meh, I don't care about the standings right now. Just finish in top 24 and hope we'll find some kind of form by March. If we won't then it won't really matter who we will play anyway.

As we've seen last season you can easily get a bad draw and go out in Round of 16 even if you win the league stage.

If Barca manages to get some form back it's crucial to finish group stage in top 8. From now on this grants return leg at home until the semis.

Exactly. I care about the league, it's where every point matters no matter if it's November or March

I think top 8 is irrelevant for us . Home advantage is non-existent, the atmosphere at Montjuic is dead and it doesn't intimidate anyone.

CVC was one big ruse to generate a system for Spanish clubs to finance Stadium renovations to win the World Cup bid.
Only half was required to use for infrastructure if I remember correctly, rest they could use for the team and some of it also got "lost" in the pockets of some people at their clubs I imagine. In the end, yeah it was a scam to enrich today's people from tomorrow's money. Laporta did something similar with the levers, but he had no choice, he needed cash after Barto's trainwreck to keep the club competitive to keep generating income and pay wages, otherwise the club would have been bankrupt.

The problem is, the Premier League is like a run away train now they have largely fixed their wastefulness in the transfer market and hired top managers.

City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are in safe hands with good-decent managers and recruitment. They will continue to be good for the next 3-5 years.

Man United + Spurs have insane amount of room to spend until they finally get the right players. They might have the managers now, given time.

Newcastle + Villa have really really good managers and are ambitious, trying to crack into the big 6. Good players and recruiting good.

Brighton + Bournemouth + Brentford have good managers each and excellent recruitment. Quite simply these teams are becoming rich enough to avoid having their players being stolen by any teams other than Europe's elite now. No reason they should get much worse.

Crystal Palace have an excellent manager and really good recruitment, a little more fragile than the 3 'Bs' as their manager and best player are likely to leave on a free soon.

Nottingham Forest have an excellent squad, just need a good manager now.

13 teams I've named who could be Champions League quality if they played in a different league.

At least Spanish clubs in EL and ECL did their job this week. Rayo with a great comeback (from 0-2 to 3-2 with a last minute winner) while Celta and Betis won relatively easy.

La Liga is currently 3rd in this season's UEFA coefficient behind PL and BL. Cyprus is 4th though not far behind so obviously still very early in the season.

This is so concerning but LaLiga is more interested in keeping the power to themselves than health of the league. It's going shitter faster than they think.

LaLiga already looks like copy of Serie A. A bit more skill. Just as bad physically tho. Slow ass football.

They need to stop with the insane financial limitations, it's killing the league.

The league is already dead. Villarreal 3rd in La Liga 2 points behind us and lost to Pafos FC from Cyprus with no goal scored.

You wouldn't bank your money on a single La Liga team outside of RM and Barca to win any European game, not even against a team from Cyprus.

90 % of the reason why we always struggle against certain teams like Celta away is solely down to the potato away pitches. If we could play all games on our own pitch but the stadium is filled with away fans only we'd have 100 point seasons every year.

La Liga has no quality anymore.

After drawing against Club Brugge, Opta's Supercomputer has left Barcelona out of the top 8 in the league phase of the Champions League

We definitely need to win against Chelsea to have a chance. Won't be easy.

We need a miracle. Rest all the Barca players during the international break and maybe we have a chance.

We are not winning at the Bridge.
But i think the prediction is not correct:

We have 7 pts now, if we win the last 3 after Chelsea we will have 16 pts. I bet they will be enough for top8
Only Arsenal, Bayern, PSG, maybe City and maybe Madrid will be above 16 pts by the end of the league phase.

Make also sure you outscore with many goals (like vs Olympiacos) the likes of Copenhagen, Slavia, Frankfurt to be on the right side of ties based on goal difference.

PS: That said, losing or drawing at the Bridge, and we will almost certainly be outside the top4

In the 20 editions of the European Cup (Champions League) after 2005, Barcelona and Real Madrid won 10/20 editions. With Barcelona winning 4 and Real Madrid winning 6, this shows the dominance of the Clasico clubs during this era. This is also proven further by Barcelona reaching 10/20 semi finals and Real Madrid reaching 12/20 semi finals. Also Spanish football flourished during this time period with 3 European Championships and 1 World Cup. Dominance.
