Suarez and Zlatan were past their peak.

Messi and Ronaldo were towards the end of their peak but still far from finished. It was the last part of their peak.

All the other names were in their peak.

That's 4, play Neymar who was been subprime since he left Barca, bar maybe 1 season.

I really don't know how often if ever he played again lewa TBH.

Adding KDB again just proves my point, you have to be stretching, that's like me adding lampard etc.

Just be honest the individual attackers he had to face was a step down for those that came before him.

Atleti should have gone for the kill after leveling. But, oh no, Simeone has to sit back and go for the draw. 🤦‍♂️

An unimpressive LFC with yet another win very late in the game this season. Till now they look poorer than they did a year ago in the first season of Slot, better not be the case with Barca and Flick too.

Went to the Bayern/Chelsea game with my girlfriend. I knew Kane was amazing, but watching him live, he really is ridiculous. Absolutely everywhere on the pitch and is as good a 10 as he is a 9. There isn't a number 9 like him.

Also, Olise is a monster of a player. He was really good at Palace but has found another level at Bayern. Chelsea weren't bad, just naive, and were punished for sloppy moments. They're still much too reliant on Cole Palmer and his magic though.

Kane is still so underrated. He's brilliant and doesn't get the respect he deserves. I have said before on here I think he's better than Lewandowski ever was (Tempt will hate me for it). So intelligent and technically gifted. Amazing hold up play, passing and finishing. He and Palmer are by far England's best players in my opinion, maybe Saka too. They have other good players but those 2/3 are a class apart.

And this is coming from a Scot who doesn't like to say anything good about English footballers.

All the Bayern fans I know prefer him to Lewandowski, because of how hard he works for the team. Lewa may score a few more, but you would never see him heading out set piece after set piece in his own box, or pinging the ball 30 or 40 yards in midfield. I think they're both obviously elite and also have attributes that are better than each other. Kane just needs to score and make a difference in a final for club and/or country. Then there's nothing at all left for anyone to ty and beat him with.

One thing I noticed about Palmer watching him live that I haven't really been aware of before is that he's deceptively quick, especially running with the ball. He really does glide.

Yeah the reason I prefer Kane is because Lewa doesn't have Kane's all-round game, and he spent most of his career stat-padding at Bayern. I truly and fully believe that Kane is the better footballer - or maybe more accurately Kane possesses a lot more of the qualities I personally like in a footballer. Which to be fair isn't necessarily the same as being objectively better.

I give Haaland a hard time, but the other day he was brilliant, and what impressed me most wasn't his speed or finishing - but his heading balls away from crosses. It was lovely to watch.

Palmer does glide for a big fellow. He makes it look so effortless. Saka does too but it's very impressive Palmer can do it while being so tall.

Foden, Bellingham, Grealish, Eze, Wharton, Stones et al are all good players. But those three are England's world-class players for me. Maybe Rice too.

I've been critical of Haaland in the past as when he's not scoring, which admittedly isn’t all that often, he can be completely out of a game. But he is still young, and even Kane at the same age wasn't the all round player he is now, so time is definitely on his side to improve his hold up and link up play. But give him space to run into and behind defenders and he's a freak.

Foden is a strange one because his ability is obvious. But even when performing amazing for City, he's always been ordinary for England. I can only put it down to Guardiola moulding him into a system player. And the system at City and England are completely different. But someone with his talent should be doing much better regardless so does need to share some of the blame. I know he had some off field issues last season so still think people suddenly writing him off was a bit daft and premature.
