Barca won an absurd no of league titles in the last 20 years
Yes because that was your golden era.

4 of your 5 CLs were in the 2006 to 2015 period.

in a league that has been overall no1 in this time frame.
La Liga was never the number 1 league. It just had the 2 best teams in the world at the time.

The league from top to bottom isn't anywhere near the PL in terms of quality, entertainment or competitiveness. Let's not act like it was 90s Italia.

Yet a few weeks ago league was negative as Liverpool were romping a one team league.

Top stuff.

A lot has changed for Liverpool since last season and dips get exposed there week in week out.

I don't care that much if it's Liverpool, or Arsenal, or Chelsea that gets the title. Just have 2-3 teams at similar level to have an interesting title fight.

It's debatable. The competition is tougher to win if you have a very strong rival all the time.

But I agree it is going in a direction that signals EPL as also the most competitive at the very top. Madrid and Barcelona are losing steam compared to teams like Arsenal and partly Chelsea.

If Chelsea also get beaten by Arsenal, it's quite a bad sign for the league I think.

You literally just said it is bad if Arsenal run away with it.. as was case when said Liverpool had it won.

It isnt bad for league at all if Arsenal are best team and win it.

Would actually be big for the league another winner and one like Arsenal with their following and EPL history.

Never hear how it is 'bad for league' when Xavi lost it by ten points to Real.. or wins it ahead of them the season before.

Didnt hear how it was bad for league when Real 5 points clear a few weeks back.

Arsenal are just incredible. I think they only have 3 players they can't afford injured now. Rice, Timber, Zubimendi. Their squad is so strong they can have Saliba, Gabriel, Califiori, Saka, Gyorkores injured and still dominate.

Chelsea are also going the right direction, they have an immense midfield and squad depth too. Big game this weekend.

La Liga looks like it is going through its worst periods in the last decades, but need to see the knockout games in CL to see the actual level of Madrid, Atletico, Barcelona vs the big EPL sides.

Something funny happens with EPL champions in next seasons though. City shite last season, Liverpool looking like going to shite this season...

Funny how there's been so much attention on how well English teams are doing in Europe atm.

When it was Spanish teams that absolutely dominated both CL and EL for the first 20 years of this century, it wasn't a good measure of the league's competitiveness for whatever reason.

EPL has for sure overtaken spanish football the last 5 years or more, but it's incredible how people don't recognize the fact that Spanish 2nd tier teams killed it compared to English equivalents for years.

Anything can happen in CL.

Would be suprised if all of them compete as a group the way EPL teams will but Real have the pace and individuals to hurt anyone but have been at best in Europe previous years when dont think can outplay everyone as Xabi currently seems to think.

City dominated for year after year in EPL.. that team had to end at some point.

Liverpool went for massive change in summer and hasnt paid off so far.

EPL looked strongest league by a clear factor 3-5 years ago when City and Liverpool used to battle it out in fierce competition deep into the season. And both consistenty got deep in CL also.

Arsenal looks to have settled as main EPL competitor in the league and Europe, but they need another consistent challenger at least. A team that stays there at the top consistenty and is a big gun in Europe. Chelsea look closest. City are off, and Liverpool started a rebuild on the wrong foot.
