Crystal Palanca majority shareholder is also majority shareholder of Lyon. Lyon are also negotiating with Betis for Abner, so we have the potential to get fucked either way through this deal.

They could in theory just pay a few million more through Abner and a little less through Chadi. The joys of multiple club ownership.

He also owns Botafogo, who in the winter market also signed Luiz Henrique from Betis for 16m.

That's a shit deal, thought it was 15+5

It's a bad deal. We gave Betis a 3m buy option on a high potential player, while our re-purchase clause kicks in next season.

We get 50% of the sale price after the Betis buy option, while if we buy him back next season, Betis only receive 20% of the sale price after our repurchase amount. So it is very much in their interest to sell him this Summer, even if they rated him.

Well, the club never really rated him highly. You can see the amount of squad callups here.

Compare that to the amount of squad callups Cubarsi got, and I'm talking before he even played a minute.

Sport have an article today how Alemany messed up with the buyback clause.

Seems a given we should have brought back for +4m. Guess the FFP stress is too crippling to even negotiate the basics.

I am not surprised tbh, Alemany has done more good than bad for us but he left us vulnerable tbh and was a bit overrated.
Anyways, good luck to Chadi, and bring in the money.
