Casemiro

Eriksen is not really a world class player anymore (although I like him don't think he ever really was but not point of the debate here). And with his health problems don't think there were other big clubs in for him. So it was either Brentford or going to United and IIRC there were actually some reports he considered hardly to stay at Brentford.

Their other signings are Lisandro Martinez who played for ETH at Ajax and Malacia who probably also mostly joined them because ETH is his countryman and promised him playing time. But if likes of Chelsea or City would go for him would he still go to United? I doubt.

Sure, CR is a problem. Not playing in the CL even bigger one. But I think reasons why players already in big clubs are rejecting them are deeper. Almost a decade of incompetence and irrelevance does that to you. They're currently a big club only on paper (and mostly due to financial power they still have) otherwise would be like AC Milan until a few years ago when they've finally started to do the right things and build a good sporting project under guidance of Maldini and Pioli.

Don't know how reliable this guy is but he says RM is willing to start negotiating at 70m. And also adds that United representatives are in Madrid.

Could see repeat of FDJ scenario. Clubs reaching an agreement but Casemiro refusing to leave. Remains to be seen if Florentino would actually push him out of the club. If he would then Casemiro would have to leave imo. Perez is bigger than any of RM players and he pushed out bigger legends than Casemiro when he thought it was the time to do so.

Still expect Casemiro to stay and give Tchouameni a season to adapt before potentially selling the Brazilian though.

Case leaving not even about status, he is appreciated but not a legend
Just makes no sense to let him go when dont know how well Tchouameni will fit at DM when played defensive B2B all his life
More doubtful whether he'll fare as well, better or worse when asked to play w/o Kroos and Modrić
Other than preparing another warchest for some name down the line RM also dont need the dosh

Yep, he plays with an ICD.

Danish international Christian Eriksen will return to the Premier League on Saturday, just eight months after he collapsed on the pitch at football's European Championship. The 30-year-old will be the first top-flight player fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), which can reset the heart after a cardiac arrest.

Heart problems affecting young professional athletes are unusual but not unheard of.

Eriksen's collapse came nine years after Fabrice Muamba's near-fatal injury at Tottenham and 19 years after Marc-Vivien Foe tragically lost his life in Lyon.

They are the high-profile cases.

But outside professional sport, a sudden cardiac arrest kills 12 people a week under the age of 35 in the UK, according to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), one of the highest causes of death in that age group after suicide and accidents.

The charity's chief executive Dr Steve Cox says: "80% of deaths in young people occur with no previous symptoms whatsoever. The vast majority of cardiac arrests happen outside of sport, when people are asleep or at rest."

I hope he goes to United but id say the chances are as good as FDJ going there… 0…

Redcafe again a good place for laughs as some users think they are going to sign BOTH FDJ and Casemiro

I legit saw a guy on there arguing Frenkie to United isn't much different than Barca, both clubs won't win any trophies for the next 2-3 years lmao

Seems they put in a huge bid for Felix also, wtf is going on at that club.

They are Chelsea without CL football. Throwing offers and money around and begging players.. They are desperate as ****. They hope something sticks.

Sad couple of days. Lack of categorical messages from RM or Casemiro suggest he's closer to leaving than staying.
Think it's a big mistake to let him go right now. Could be the right and needed domino push to break up CKM, but dont think it's executed correctly and at the right time.
Seems like our man not a fan of competition like some of his other teammates

United's offer is probably too big to decline. Just too good business for 30 year old Case.

Same as rumoured deal for Auba, 27mil. Way too good to pass.

Barca achieved more heights from 06-15 than United did in their whole existence.

The deluded supporters over there need to get their heads checked. They're not even bigger than Liverpool.

Pedrerol already with smear campaign saying Casemiro decision comes from months back
As if it does. He and his agent would have been in contact with teams to let them know he's available if that were the case
Perez already on his politics with Chiringuito propaganda designed to make Case decide faster so as the club doesn't lose out on the bigger pot of money offered by United

Disappointing

Equally disappointing from Casemiro mind you if he's legitimately considering United as destination
Took him to be smarter than a common sellout. He'll pay for it down the line with English media on his back over next 5 years if he goes there and stays for that long

Who in their right frame of mind would pay even 40m (not 70 ! that is rumored) for a washed-up 30yr old DESTROYER, who has the best years of his career way behind, and double his already big salary on top?

It's not even a panic buy using the money allocated for FDJ.
It's a terrible sporting decision that is unjustifiable from all povs.

UTD need a Director of Football ASAP

They have one and he's done a pretty good job since coming in considering state before him.

60M for the best defensive midfielder in the world is absolutely adequate. 80 is desperate.
