What you suggest is impossible from a structural pov. It's either the insignificant trophy of having "highest stadium", which I've never heard anyone mention, or a much needed modernization and a roof.

I'm afraid that if you attend the first game in new camp nou with the roof, you'll wish you had the stadium without a roof back.

Does anyone know the official current schedule for all the buildings in the overall project: Completion of the upper tier, roof, clubhouse, hall, etc.?

I follow construction.. there has been an initial one for everything yes.. but as things progressed the timeline is expectedly kept altering .. now president himself says he cant predict everything for sure.. however.. what is certain.. stadium will be ready for full 100k capacity by the end of season.. the roof (4 months needed and no football meanwhile can be played there ) is still guesswork .. some sources speculate summer 2027 but who knows.

All started with your very strange hobbit design that is a total joke, calling the Palau and offices strange names, arguing about highest rows and now this. Go sit in a cold rain and tell again, how you like it more than a roof, that also increases the atmosphere inside the arena. Wind it down with these strange takes please.

Yes, that's possible. However, separate roof pillars could have been built infront of the stadium. I wouldn't have torn down the fantastic upper tier for all the money in the world. I also don't think the roof design is a good idea. It looks like a 30-year-old roof style, and the inner roof opening is too narrow. In my opinion, stadium roofs should also conform to the stadium's shape and have a wide opening. And I don't think it's good to have a lot of technical equipment like the video wall and roof structure hanging above the pitch. The new stadium will have less individuality and recognizability than the old one. that is tragic

What is the tragic is the old ass camp nou and I have been there.. cant live in the past forever .. the whole stadium was old and needed this full renovation to extend its lifetime by another 50 years. Ur just nostalgic .. I wouldnt want a 1.7 Billion stadium to look like a replica of a stadium built in the 50s.

A stadium with and without a roof are two completely different worlds. Especially if the roof isn't transparent. Okay, roofs made of clear glass are certainly an option. If a roof is chosen, a stadium like Camp Nou would, in my view, need a roof made of clear glass whose inner opening corresponds to the shape of the stadium.

It would be a fantastic solution: gaining additional space in the cramped stadium forecourt, cooler temperatures in the stadium and in the surrounding neighborhood, a measure against the sealing of surfaces, the creation of a great city park, a great location for the club offices, and a breathtaking view of the stadium from the hill.

No, a renovation that only involved refurbishing the existing stands and adding a new roof would obviously have been significantly cheaper and would have avoided the need for a relocation. Demolishing and rebuilding the upper tier with the underlying structure is extremely expensive.

No it wouldn't have been cheaper because it wouldn't have been possible.
