I don't feel good starting this thread. Just lost 1-6 to Turkey at home last night.

It's a tragedy and Bulgaria have been trying to bounce back for the last 20 years. The football union shifts the blame to the clubs, who field 7-8 EU passport foreigners in every club. The thing is the federation allowed this to happen.

Our best players are Iliya Gruev, reserve at Leeds Utd and Kiril Despodov, also reserve at PAOK. The rest, mostly, are playing in the local league or in Eastern Europe clubs.

Need to start at grassroot levels. I don't know what the situation in Bulgaria is, but I can tell from experience that a lot have luckily changed in Norway.

Like we didn't even have proper drills for actually playing football when I was 10. Our coaches would just tell us to run like donkeys. It only started changing in my teens.

Doesn't need to go overboard so players lose all their flair, but gotta start with actually letting them play and have fun instead of long balls, tall mfucker on top to head it in type of shit.

Now we have technically gifted or decent players.

And you obviously need some luck too

It's interesting, because our analysts compare Bulgaria and Norway. Where we were as a powerhouse in the 70&80s and Norway. We had a draw with Norway about that time and it was considered scandalous back then.

Indeed has to start at grassroot level. But this will take 10 years the least and if a real effort is applied in academies. Corruption eats the sport, what I mean is rich parents pay to promote their kids, while real talent is neglected.
