I'm throwing Valencia's Mosquera's hat into the ring as a cheap CB option. 20 year old Spain U21 international. Always looked a good prospect when I've seen him.

Was actually shocked to hear he was on his way to Leipzig but talks broke down. 1 year left on his contract so is available for a cut price 20m.

Arsenal are close to buying him now though.

Doesn't look like we will buy any CBs at all if there weren't any rumours surrounding us with Mosquera.

Seems a great market opportunity.

Edit : Looks like he's already been mentioned above by @Messi983 . Should have read the thread before posting.

Good option. Too bad he's not left-footed. But he's pretty good with his left foot.

Athletic CB, fast and also pretty good on the ball.

The price is low.

We need to get going.

One of the obvious minuses is the weak numbers for aerial duels won. 45%
It's strange, considering his physical indicators. Even Inigo and Сubarsi have higher numbers.

Deco is cooking right now, so let him cook.

If we sell a defender this summer, he'll probably bring in one or a FB.

But next Summer he'll cool with a CB and striker.

If we don't bring reinforcements in defense, I hope at least Flick won't play Kounde vs every possible opponent in the league until he drops in May. Focused Kounde is by far our best defender. Yes he plays fullback, but his CB skills are showing when he narrows down in the center. Acts like a 3rd CB most of the time like Abidal did back in the day. Stopped Bellingham twice in last ditch moments in Copa final in ET when he appeared in the center.

I mentioned Mosquera a while ago.

While talented he made a lot of errors last season. With the amazing patience this forum shows there will be pitchforks after him after a couple of months.

He wouldn’t start for us right now over Cubarsi, Inigo, Christensen if he stays.

At CB we need immediate quality, a starter.

Arsenal's first offer for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera has reportedly been rejected

I don't think we are in the position this summer for this kind of deal, but Mosquera is a buy and loan back kind of deal.

This guy from RS is considered one of the most talented young CBs in the world. He was recently one of the best in the Euro U19 (if believe the analysts).

In La Liga he played 13 matches (900 min), but his statistics of aerial duels won are impressive.

Ok, to start with we are not a selling club. But it is deals like this that we have to think how we can leverage LaMasia talents better. Jesus Rodriguez has been a nice tricky winger for Betis. But Abde's understudy. And stats wise this season, 2 goals and 1 assist in 1220 minutes over 21 games. International wise only 5 U21 caps.

If you watch him you can see he is good but not a world class prospect.

You telling me that we can't get some LaMasia Tier 1.5-2 out on loan or involved in the first team like (for example) an uninjured Dani Rodriguez and then pop them off for 20+ million?

Now let me ask you a question. Fermin Lopez after his first season under Xavi, 23/24. 20 years old, 8 LaLiga goals over 1444 minutes and 31 games. Do you think we would have been able to get 22.5m (25m after variables) + a 12.5% sell on clause?

I doubt it.

Eric was a real find for this position last season. I think Hansi will rotate these two much more.
