What should the club prioritize

Both are equally big problems unless you want to run Lamine and Raphinha down until they both drop dead.

The other wingers we have we can barely trust vs. La Liga relegation fodder.

Luckily Diaz probably ends up in Saudi.

I think Olmo played on the left wing pretty often at Leipzig. Just because we didn't use him there doesn't mean he can't play if needed. Think Ferran can play there also. There are some options to rotate. But you have to do it proactively. Of course players won't feel tired in the first part of the season. But tiredness also works by way of accumulation. And there's also mental tiredness, not only physical.

After we win the CL with the exact defenders we have now, it will be interested to see what the reactions will be.

Will it be, we made adjustments and managed the games betters.

Luck was on our side.

All these defenders magically became world class.

I mean, you can upgrade over Fati/Victor with a loan or some 10M signing. You could get upgrade on CB if you make the right choice with 40-60M, and will likely get paid lower than a high profile LW.

So, if you have 60M for one big signing, I know which position I would spend into

Yeah, and if you improve the defense with a top player, you also get more windows of opportunity to rest more players in attack. We won't concede as much, and more games would be decided quicker and clearer. Opening the door for early subs constantly.

But when we fuck up in defense, and you concede 2-3 goals regularly... of course there is more and more and more pressure on the forwards to deliver very game.

The problem with signing a CB is not that we don't need one. But that we'll fuck up the selection.

Olmo is not a left-winger.

Frankly speaking if he continues on the same path next season I won't be surprised if Flick drops him in every big game and puts our LW signing on the pitch with Raphinha as the CAM who can switch positions with Lamine.

Everyone talks about Olmo's actual performances, but it's his body language and mentality that worried me the most in the big games.

I mean I understand people wanting new CB, and I think we need top class CB but in current situation we don't need it.
Araujo renewed few months ago, Christensen will not leave, we have Eric, Cubarsi, Inigo and potentialy Kounde.
We are covered with numbers, with quality not soo, but I think we can keep up for one more season.

Next year we are going for striker, so doubt we will have money for top CB.

Maybe year after we can go full retard and buy top CB.

I don't like Raphinha as a CAM at all personally. Don't know how Flick can use Raphinha in the most crowded position in world football. His qualities are completely opposite to the position requirements.

Rapinha scored like 30+ and assisted 20+ goals from some kind of second striker/cam position LOL.

I would have no problem selling Araujo and signing a top quality or top potential CB in his place, but for that to happen you need to find a club that will be willing to invest a high enough fee for us to accept it, and also have Flick/Deco tell Araujo he did to leave.

If Christensen cannot be counted on to stay fit he need to go as well. Not sure what the point is in having a guy who is going to be out for 85% of the season. But that depends on the information they have about his injuries and fitness that we don't have access to.

He is best when is inside.

He is wc dribbler.

That is way we have problem when Balde does not play, Martin does not have quality and does not go hugh up the pitch, si he need to be more wide.

This role suits him perfectly, on counter attacks more on wing, and when we are in possesion he goes more insode as second striker.

Imagine having this set of CBs.

Martinez
Cubarsi
Araujo
Christensen
Kounde
Garcia.

Seeing a CL final with 5 CBs on the pitch and only 1 of those would anyone say is better than our 4 main CBs before yesterday, and after yesterday the answer would remain only 1.

But then thinking we should go out and spend upwards of 60M on a CB, something the club as never done or nor do most teams do.

Because spending 60-70m on CB is one of the biggest waste of money any team can do unless they are absolutely sure, he will be an hit. Like VVD and such those don't come along often.

This CB conversation reminds me of the magically RB we didn't sign back in the Lever day's, most who are whinny about a CB now, was whinny about back then.

The club as identified the single biggest weakness in the squad, GK and ST and they are at least attempting to fix those positions.

After that maybe a LB, but flick likes Martin.

So, you expect the club to renew Inigo at 35? Along renewing injury prone Christensen (who has a chronic injury that made him barely capable of playing full 90 minutes when he is healthy?
