PSG pressing is insane.

I've been telling my friends these past few weeks

Flick plays attacking football.
But PSG at there best plays attractive football.

Good team Enrique has built.

Who does player scouting for PSG for Christ's sake?

Willian Pacho, their CD is very very good. I have been watching for sometime now.

Any thread for Willian Pacho here yet?

PSG have made some amazing signings, but they also spent nearly 200m on Ramos and Kolo Muani.

If Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern or any clubs like that had spent 200m on two players that flopped then they wouldn't have been able to spend another 350m easily on multiple players as PSG did.

It's easy to scout when you can sign without any significant consequences. You can take those big money swings because even if you fail what's there to worry about?

This. @Birdy would have done as good a job as Campo with that budget.

Heck, he may even be Campo.

They also have a very comfortable league run-in where they don't need to exert much energy, having no actual rivals.

Playing in the Prem or LaLiga or also Serie A and making a CL run is very different.

Saudi should buy Paris FC and put the Baby Island Oil back in their place.

Valid points.
But I like to look at these things more in context than absolutes. Efficiency!!

If you accumulate all that Real Madrid and Barca have wasted on few players(Countiho, Griezman for Barca; Hazard, Jovic for RM, etc) with relatively lower ROI, it should then even out the two you listed above for PSG. If you stretch it further, you will come to a conclusion PSG have been more efficient relative to spend.

It is no doubt PSG have a wide swathe of a pocket, similar to what the illustrious clubs like RM, Barca, Man U, etc have had before the advent of the state clubs like PSG,Newcastle, Man City; and big money spenders like Chelsea,

Question should be, how well you have used your funds to achieve your objectives. Not all clubs that have access to such huge monies have had anything close to what PSG have done in the last 2 seasons with their recruiting. ManU, Chelsea and Man City to an extent are clubs with deep pockets and have blown a lot of money recently with arguably a lower rate of success compared to PSG.

Credit due. They have been very efficient in assembling a young, balanced and deep squad that should keep them in that top echelon of european football for many years to come, all other things being equal.

Spot on. Let's not give them too much credit. It's much much easier to shoot a target if you have 50 bullets, instead of 5. They're the club of Qatar state ffs, money is their "secret".

What are you talking about? Many odd claims there.

You're making as if PSG won multiple CL titles. They've spend billions probably with zero return so far. They're the worst example of funding in football. Even the idea of pouring billions into a club playing in a mickey mouse league is incredibly stupid.

Ok. What I am talking about is that the usual response here about PSG wasting "200m on 2 players" (even if they are succesful at picking up talents cheaply in other examples) as a pointer to their wasteful spending is inane. It is a myopic argument to bring up when a club like Barca have "wasted" such, if not more on players without any tangible return in the Champions league in recent times.

Success is relative too. You can only judge that from the perspective of the owners. The Saudi Investment Fund have poured nearly a billion pounds sterling on Newcastle(a club not in the Mickey mouse league) and haven’t won anything of note and according to the owners they are far more than satisfied with the project just for the publicity. If PSG consider multiple Ligue one titles to be their barometer of success, who are you to determine otherwise?
