Linked to Alan Varela. Catalan media says he's Argentinian Busquets (of course). Jacek Kulig (whose opinion I rate a lot) compares him to Kimmich though.
Doesn't look much like Busi, it's a lazy media comparison, but he is the type we should be looking at along with the likes of Danilo, Andrey Santos etc. If the big Portuguese clubs are genuinely interested (so not an Exequiel Palacios case) then it would generally be a good sign to move in.
Just a shame we don't have 40-50m a season for these type of bets as someone else else said here before. Given our stature and income overall, we should be in that position like Madrid are who managed to ride Covid perfectly.
We should take a punt on this varela kid never seen him play before and the Brazilian young DM we were linked with, bring them both it and have them fight it out to be the busquets replacement, we have to start getting smarter with our transfers, last summer was pretty good compared to years past, we should continue down that road.

The best two transfers in recent times been Pedri and Araujo.
Need to find more of those type bargains now.
Cant be spending 120m on wingers that dont even fit the way team play.
Need to be smarter and get in correct types and more with potential.
Knowing when to sell is huge also.
Too many players kept for too long/extended when no need to etc.

Would cost 20m and he played at a Barca school in Argentina before moving to Boca Juniors......which is why he'll of course go to Ajax and then a year later to a Premier League club for 100m.

Barca could go dowm the Ajax/Portugese teams route of banging out these cheaper players and realising some will hit and some will miss but ones that do hit can explode.
Difficult to do when expected to win but at least try more of these punt type transfers now... almost have no choice really.

Wouldn't expect it to happen tbh. Obviously it's way too early we're in December but media saying the priority for January is RB and that there will only be one big signing in the summer which is Zubimendi for his 60m buyout.

Dont expect it either and think they will try all can to keep Busi and push back his deferrd salary due which is said to be 30/40 odd.
Honestly I think the club might have to bite bullet and sell someone to make these payments.

Should sell a 49% stake in the club if anything before they or someone else in a few years drives us to bankruptcy anyway.
